EA is good at expedition, but not as good as I was expecting. I'm not sure if Block effects EA?
Even though they didn't shake up the meta that much, they did introduce some new builds (like the bleed Cry thing) and the overall health of the game feels really good.
Since 3.4 secondary damage can be blocked, dodged or evaded yes
Since I'm very unfamiliar with the atlas passive tree but had the same idea as you with experdition + essence but surely I dont want betrayal, could you give me any advice where to read up on it?
Otherwise I followed like a "suepr easy currency atlas tree" with wandering path and featuring delirium / harvest which i dislike :C
My league starts been alright. I'm not really a fan of the cold dot playstyle, but my RNG has been solid. I dropped Brother's Gift on my first Cemetery, a Paradoxica, and have made a bunch of divs with Mr. Rog. These are Rog boots I kept for myself:
I'm probably going to switch to Spark today or tomorrow, just need to finish up a few odds and ends. I'm not sure if I want to wait until after I farm up an uber elder or not (for the last voidstone).

Not really near a useful protection mastery notable for CB, could try rolling a few abyss jewels for bleed avoidance and corrupt a normal jewel for CB immunity / farm up Lachrymal Necrosis in Basilica (yuck).
There are tattoos for 15% bleed avoid. You can craft 60% on the boots and get 33-35% all the way up to 48-50% on boot eater implicit. There's also the Tolerance wheel near Pain Attunement.
My goal would probably be the 60% craft, a CB immune jewel, and the most opportunity cost-effective combination of the others you can get.

I'm SSF this time, so I have to do it to get the bench crafts in a timely manner and stuff like White sockets. If you're on trade you don't necessarily need the bench crafts for yourself, but I like doing it anyways so I don't have to rely on a service.
I followed advice from this video which influenced me to go for betrayal for SSF. There's a time-stamp section on Betrayal: + Show Spoiler +
If you're trade league, you can make money by selling crafts on TFT. Things like Aisling T4 or Hillock T4 are 1 div++. Can be annoying to sell though. You get a good general amount of loot too from Bargain and Scarabs or whatever. IDK if it stacks up to delirium or beyond for currency/hour, but its nice to stockpile Jun missions, then spec into Betrayal and spend them all. IDK of a general betrayal guide, it's pretty complicated, so some recent reddit/YT thing should have info
My leaguestart was going to be expedition/blight, but it was too many points and I was kind of still sick of blight from past leagues, so I ended up also doing expedition/essence. I've been doing the new maven 1-3 boss node with full investment into all the map drop nodes and you really get a ton of the special maps which is great for self-sufficiency.
Incidentally, I went for the new All Hands keystone with Jun + Focused Investigation to help get all the unveils, which has been pretty nice. I'm thinking I'll go full into syndicate for a bit to farm Tora gem exp to get these awakened gems leveled up. I already did it for the Enlighten I dropped (failed the corruption, RIP).
On a related note, I think All Hands is bugged and preventing you from getting Kirac missions on map completion.
The druid seems sick. Auto swap between forms reminds me of D4. Kind of hilarious that optimal damage is a giant bear running in circles around a volcano
Nice thing about Cast When Channeling being completely separate, is that your main channel skill can be fully 6L without having to give up a gem

Well, that just means Cast When X gems are likely going to be huge because it will be like Spellslinger but better...

Thank you I will look into it Any info helps at this point. :D
I am curious if other people have the same feeling as me sometimes when it comes to managing the atlas , passive tree or itemization of the character. I rather enjoy playing the game ( I understand that its part of playing the game ) instead of managing stuff.
I hope people understand what I mean by that and I'm curious if others have that

I've been busy with my job so I'm still doing yellow maps. I'm playing flicker strike slayer for now but soon when I setup my atlas strategy and farm some currency for mahuxolt's machinations I will create a second character focused on forbidden Rite.
Luckily after summer ends I will have more free time.
I joined near the end of Closed Beta Happy I got my Kiwi. Anyone else earlier than me?
I'm a New Zealander, though, so heard about it pretty early ... my PoE IGN/handle predates the cold-themed Beyond boss - both named for the glacier / extinct giant eagle from NZ's South Island.
Damn, I missed my chance to flex.
Hope everyone is having a blast. Im playing group found with a couple of friends, Im on Boneshatter Jugg, starting to feel real good, but my map clear took a bit of a hit transitioning to impale as 6th link. Seems like im not stunning mobs quite as frequently/strongly. Anyone have any idea what some goalposts are to make sure that pulses feel good?
Maven on melee was quite the experience, certainly. Dont see myself doing uber maven or uber sirus on Boneshatter, lol.
New champion in the lead. Aug 8 is before the closed beta started !
Are you running Ruthless? I liked that gem, because you one shot small packs regardless, and for tougher packs the Ruthless biggo stun kicks in. Also, do you have impale chance on tree or on your weapon? The hybrid Phys Dmg + impale veiled mod is what I aim for in my endgame weapon
I havent played Boneshatter this league, but you using the +1 strike range tattoos? heard those are good

dunno if those will assist the stun size but yea
Nah, not playing ruthless this time around. Ruthless hc in Sanctum was enough for me for some time haha.
I just got one of the honored Fortify on Hit tattoos, so I swapped my Fortify link for impale and am playing impale atm. Still looking for a good fracture on an axe to craft a new one. Dont really feel like crafting on a vanilla base, but maybe there's some good way to go about it? My current axe has T1 flat phys, a poor hybrid roll and like T4 AS with crafted phys%, so it's not too bad (like... 660pDPS I think?). Wonder how to progress here.
The +1 strike range tattoos are really nice. Certainly feel them. Got my chaos res fixed now as well, so the next step for beefing up will be getting a better chest and some more spell suppression. But well, the character is strong enough for everything sans uber bosses, so maybe I will just use it to farm for the next one. :>
Really would like to go for a good sanctum character. Ive played Cold DoT about a billion times, so dont really feel like going that way. What other characters aside from SRS (never really liked it) are recommendable for smooth sanctums in a basically SSF setting?
Dropped Vixens, so also thinking about playing Impending Doom since it might be the last chance to have the nice intersections on spell cascade. Does the char feel good with just Vixens and rare gear?
yeah, I wouldn't gear up boneshatter for ubers. it CAN do them, but if its primarily great at being a tanky mapper, I don't really like suffering ubers as melee. I was referring to the Ruthless support gem but yea
Ballista Totems is really good vs sanctum. Either EA, toxic rain, or just straight up siege ballista. Any sort of totem setup, really. Could do spell based if you want
IDK about impending doom, havent played it, but I'm pretty sure Vixen is the only hard requirement. Meeting CDR seems like it could be tricky, but probably not so bad if you've gotten some tattoos. you also want some flask crafts, so hopefully you been doing mastermind
I've played PoE for over 10 years and love the game deeply, but I'm also a nerd for aesthetics and character fantasy. In particular, I like builds that either use a staff (for spells) or any 2-handed weapon (for melee), but all I see in the meta are dual-wielding single handers, daggers and wands and shields. With a lot of caster builds, you could theoretically slot in a staff, but it makes your character weaker and that just sorta isn't fun. I guess it's a sort of weird requirement, but it's important to me. Hope to see more variety soon.
Also, TL;DR, anyone got a good league starter recommendation for any builds that use a staff?
