They will also redestribute some of the loot to generic monsters to make the loot less spiky. This means you will still randomly encounter a pile of flasks dropping from a rare in reduced quantity compared to now. Should still be nice for SSF in my mind but we will see how it will play out. //edit: Ok, I didn't read the FAQ, they are removing flask conversion... Playing Endless Delve right now, this is the first time I seriously have less fun with archnemesis. Kind of ironic. Hitting a brick wall at a node because everything dies but a frostweaver, rejuvenating, soul eater or something like, which I can't even scratch...that is frustrating. The ground effects are, which I lamented before, are also more annoying in delve to the point I just logged out and made a new attempt at the node praying for less shit on the ground... Now I'm even more glad they are making these changes. I also realised two things I really like about this mode. One is the progression and constant problem solving. It's really satisfying to think of solution with the limited options given. This is coupled with the second point - habitats and reward nodes - make it very different from normal PoE. Depending on what solution you chose you can then aim for certain nodes and have a good chance of getting what you need. This makes it exciting and satisfying because there is exploration, I feel excited to see a node I was looking for and even if I don't get what I need it's not that frustrating because there is a good chance I will get it soon enough. I think this kind of system or something similar could be fun in other areas of the game as well. Maybe in maps to give them more of a flair (and attach monster types to certain maps as well, while at it, so the monster composition isn't almost completely random). Atm. maps lack identity because what differs is only layout and the boss (and div cards but w/e...).

if you want to see what Ruthless looks like its kinda hilarious but I want to play it LOL. seems like it would get old really quickly tho DoT builds with multiple skills seem dominant, probably ruins the mode tbh

Like others have mentioned, it seems more tedious than challenging. Even though I've been playing PoE for a (really) long time, I'm still kind of a scrub. My goal each league is basically experience the league mechanic, try out some new builds, get carried through the tougher bosses (thanks everyone, especially Woo ^^) and then watch others basically steamroll. In my opinion, this would be more suited for those who play constantly throughout the league. Many are playing cold dots because most of(?) the gems can be gained through missions. There was an initial review on Reddit and the guy played that and provided a frame for how to navigate the game. It's also tanky and well balanced. I guess opinions will vary quite a bit, also depending on how strong D2 nostalgia you feel and the time you first started playing PoE. Please share your thoughts (if you have any), I'm interested in hearing what people here think about Ruthless.

And did you see the atlas passive tree? :D Map sustain is hard and if you want to buff it with the passive tree, you have to suffer from making the monsters stronger. I honestly don't mind it all. Some people will like it, and it seems like a fun mode for standard.

- league mechanic sounds great, bringing a HC feature to SC again without being fatal. loved this in Heist. also not as dependent on the build it seems. - QoL, balance, items etc. all seem fairly good. - Ruthless we knew about but it seems like a great addition to the game to me. Play the 3 month league and Ruthless permanent. - Cadiro should not be hidden behind a pay wall.

e: new league looks really, really good. It's gotta be better than Kalandra, right? :^) Fracturing orb from harbinger I really love. Harb is one of my fav league mechanics and it sucked how it was bad after exalt/divine change. And fracturing + essence is a fairly low stress way of making good items Nightblade + related attack skills (lightning strike, helix) seem to be gutted. Kinda sad cus I loved those builds but probably for the best. I'm skeptical if the new melee replacement (e.g. Vaal Cleave) will be good enough, but maybe with the buffed uniques overall looks cool. I won't be able to play much cus of holidays but seems like a return to form for GGG. Will have to see

Yeah, the rogue-lite minigame seems fun - will be interesting to see how the resolve loss revolves around not getting hit etc re: different builds and positioning, screen clutter, etc. On December 02 2022 05:33 EchelonTee wrote: Fracturing orb from harbinger I really love. Finding it hard to find time for PoE at the moment with a young family etc, but will keep an eye on things.

We ran into the same issue in the D2 mod Hell Unleashed. Poision was not touched for a long time due to the strength of other builds, but as these builds were nerfed a bit, poison became the goto in most cases. Eventually we had to come and address several issues with it...but really no matter what we did besides utterly gutting it, it remained extremely strong mechanic.

To me it looked like there aren't as many monsters in the Sanctum. If I got it correctly, Chris also mentioned in the interview (when asked about atlas passives and drops) that the monsters in the Sanctum are unique. This leads me to believe we will generally see less enemies, less screen clutter and more telegraphs and active dodging (rather than the usualy "just keep moving regardless of what happens on screen"). Maybe I'm too hopeful here though. Fractured orbs sound great. They will be hella expensive though. Also congrats to becoming a parent, best wishes. =)

I'm also surprised about the positive way this league mechanic is being seen. @Haasts congrats and good luck on this new adventure :D

I think there is a huge audience for rogue-likes, people liked Haydes etc. But wait until league start. Last time I remember actually playing Double Strike / Cleave was in the end of closed beta or something. Also on a Duelist. ![]() Also am I right thinking The Saviour in offhand isn't very good on skills that attack with both hands? I think I'm set on trying to get Paradoxica and use a shield.

Waggle was testing sabo hexblast traps, though it looked a bit janky. He was struggling to get curse on hit gloves to make it work. Have seen people try occultist hexblast mines and the play style is eh. Are you sure it was Cleave and not Sweep? @Miragee, agree. The sanctum areas look like Heist with even fewer mobs. Maybe they should have just brought back Descent.

I'm not sure what I want to play. Was looking at Fire Trap ignite or Rage Vortex but they nerfed the latter for no apparent reason and I'm not sure Fire Trap will do well in the sanctum... blegh

the meta hasn't changed much, it's been pretty "figured out" so as long as its not a sketch guide (like those Standard blasting hyper geared builds) should work out https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/zfo6kq/wr_level_100_in_51_minutes/ This was sick

Atm. I'm leaning towards a cold hit build. If normal defenses don't work vs resolve-damaging attacks, I assume freezing enemies will still prevent those attacks from happening. //edit: Btw. does anybody know what's up with PoB? No updates in sight?
