Also the first league in a while where I'm more excited about trying new CONTENT than I am about trying a new build/skill. Which is maybe why I'm feeling the urge toward playing something solid and that I'm familiar with, and it's not bothering me like it usually does.

Crazy, am I right? They actually DO have some pretty nifty threads detailing builds on specific class forums that are updated every league with changes. I assume you'll want a witch to be a summoner, but have a look around at the different classes and ascendencies as well.

3rd: https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds If you don't mind starting a little slow/later than average going there and cherry picking exactly what you want will show you EXACTLY what people are running. Their gear, skill point distributiion, etc.

I really wanna get into this but this seems like a huge obstacle in addition to the freakishly complicated builds and character development.
