actually perma-3 endurance charges, because I have +1 min crafted on a ring, it's super strong

additionally in that post, Synthesis is confirmed not going core, for the best I feel. I never got any ludicrous gear and didn't really feel the desire to farm for it, but stuff like +2 min endurance charge, light explosion weapons were neat and not too hard to make.

The best thing the company has done is insulate themselves from this particular issue. For some mmo's a bad patch can be crippleing long term to the game. i could've sworn they are killing the game for that 4.0 by sucking all the resources out of the new leagues; for me it was a given because it's been happening ever since they've started branching out to new platforms.

It is a good thing they are trying to be open and they get credit for that, but at the same time it was vaguely concerning to me because he basically said Synthesis sucked because we were doing too many things and didn't have time, now look at all these cool things we are doing. So why exactly shouldn't I expect this to keep happening?

you try and assess the amount of backlogging they're in then guesstimate the time it takes them to get out of it. add in some history, some tendencies/trends and boom!, you're there: keep expecting it 'till 4.0 and then ... keep expecting.

Only way to fix melee is to kill the speed clear meta and they will not do that.

Player kills everything fast so for enemies to be any challenge to players they also need to do lots of damage in those rare cases when they get to attack. And this is felt the most by "melee" skills as those tend to have shorter range then other skills.

I doubt there will be any real change in 3.7 , especially since they said their don't want to change speed clear meta.

Im really looking foward to their solution of melee "fix".

Melee is not as bad as it seems in my opinion, people generally overfixate on nerfs and call stuff dead, even tho it can be viable. It is going to be intresting to see if GGG will see melee fix as an simple damage buff, or actual mechanical correction, or even maybe just new support (which I think wont be plausible cause ancestral call and multistrike pretty much are there allready).

Seeing reddit/community little bit turned against GGG in forums/reddit, they gotta make next league overtuned I think, so will melee fix be overtuned... will be intresting to see.

Fixing the fundamental relation of melee and speed clear meta seems hard, but it seem like you could do a lot just by balancing that half of the tree & armor possibly.

As far as I can tell all the really really big keystones seem to be on the caster/ranged side of the circle (CI, MoM, EB, Ghost Reaver, Phase Acrobatics, Pain Attunement, Zealot's Oath) and the ones on the melee side are more of things that make up for the drawbacks of melee by trading off another cost (Resolute Technique, Unwavering Stance).

I'm not really sure on the melee side what sort of keystone can boost your damage as much as Pain Attunement or you your eHP as much as CI or MoM. It makes melee seem really limited to only really top end builds.

If were talking keystones, Blood Magic could be only specific to apply in melee attacks, lets you reserve that last 25% mana for extra herald, nice little extra health behind it. Maybe something like that. But this is again simple numbers buff, which I don't think is their intent. Also this would basically mean passive version of old stat-stick. Which would just mean they reversed their nerf on those.

They stated they want to change way speedclear works with melee, but unless they make every melee another frostblades that clears whole screen, then I can't figure out what they could do.

The easiest way would probably be to buff melee skills in general as well as defenses in the tree so melees could focus on defense nodes and still maintain the same damage. Reading through what I just read I realise it would end in another number of problems, nevermind.

Seriously though, I think Fortify will get changed a bit like infused channeling, giving a good benefit but avtually requiring a bit of continuos attacking, and that Life leech will get buffed as well.

It will be underwhelming because they have to fix 2 problems at once and they won't.

One is the power level of spells right now (it's way too high for it's investment and ease of building) and the other is the power level of red maps and higher level content (it's too low).

The most fun I had with a melee char was the "life Mjolner done right by Rico" in betrayal , I felt like a god among man (until I tried to do the "PvP" map which was funny) , I span into mobs and blew them up!! nothing was comparable to that char.

This league I tried a bow starter and didn't get to enjoy the league due to hideous map drops so I passed on this league completely , it will be fun to have melee boosted , mainly for the low budget builds , as currently I feel its impossible to play melee without good gear (while arc traps you can do with nothing but gems basically).

I think melee cannot and should not compare to glass cannon ranged in clear speed , but melee should feel STRONG and TANKY , not to be squashed like a bug whenever you get hit.

Stat sticking melee was considered OP before it was removed so I think a purely damage buff would actually be enough to bring it back into play, although there are other changes I'd like them to make as well. I think clear speed concerns are mostly overstated, there are a number of very good melee skills for clear (frost blades as mentioned, reave, infernal blow, flicker, consecrated path, lightning strike, tectonic slam).

All of that doesn't matter tho because cyclone is becoming a channeling skill so I'm playing melee forever now.
