Came here to post about the CoC change but looks like everyone's onto it already. It didn't even lose the more damage buff too!
Definitely going to be trying the classic barrage/projectiles and cyclone discharger again to see how it feels. We're losing Vagan's weapons from him but perhaps it'll be a veiled mod? Yet another reason for lycosidae to be expensive.
And I was thinking about going winter orb to start the league too.
I'm wondering how builds that CoC multiple skills actually do damage? Crazy builds with 2-3 different spells hooked up to their CoC look hilarious and fun but that leaves you with like one support gem on a 6L (not including the More Spell Damage from CoC itself). Do you just build your tree around that with tons of spell damage or do you just stick to low tier map clear (+ lots of fun)?
Going back and looking at old CoC stuff might not even be the best way to go about it now that so many new skills are in the game and so many skills have been changed a bit as well.

Can't you technically have more "links" now with support mods and such?
Yeah shaped 2 hand melee weapons&bows can have supported skills use cast on critical strike gem. So you technically can have 7 link there for example. Not counting all the other shaped/elder 7/8 link possibilities.
Pretty crazy, i thought i had my build already done. With that big of a change i definetenly wanna do a CoC tho ,been so long since ive played one:D

Are they in any way related to those Discharge builds that used to be popular back in the day?
CoC nowadays normally also means Cospris or Mjollnir. So you get 1-2 Spells from Chest + 1-2 Spells from (each) Weapon.
Imho its pretty similar to the old Discharge builds, at least my Discharge-Assa could be easily respecced/geared into using other Skills instead of Discharge.
I stumbled upon a Mathil Video yesterday (Cospris-CoC with Static Strike):
Well with this CoC is gonna be really good again, and there will be many good builds probably with Poet's Pen, Quill Rain (ranged) and Mjölner, Cospri's (both usually with Cyclone using Lycosidae) as well as with Vagan mod (still confirmed to be there somehow) and Trypanon.
I'm most probably not gonna play it though, but many will.
Mathil's version is probably circa 30ex, but you can have it function for whatever the price of 2 cospri's malices is. Or maybe even 1 for a static strike build specifically although your boss killing will suffer.
Unfortunately malice is a pretty rare unique and with CoC back on the menu, you can expect those to be a few ex each.
I semi copied mathil's Consecrated path build and it was VERY good to start with( I started way late ). I've play a lot of flicker strike in the past and I gotta say consecrated path was just so much easier in every way and not as limited on bosses either.
I played a bit of SSF Conc Path in 3.4, think I barely got into white maps but yeah the ability feels pretty great. I can see why people wouldn't totally love it, but it feels like a more QoL and easy to get started Flicker Strike for sure. Thinking about it a bit for next league but it'll depend on how all this CoC stuff turns out too lol
Getting my head around the Atlas reshuffle - obviously no clue if divination cards have been shuffled as well. SSF-wise, Channel at T1 could make farming up a Tabula a bit nicer than Blood Aqueducts (Lab trials etc), and I'm half-tempted to spam T3 Cursed Crypt for a set of the Celestial Justicar.
