Is starting a new league with a bow deadeye super clumsy? I have not much bow experience overall so idk any helpful leveling (fresh, not twink obv) tricks. Want to play bow this league regardless cuz it seems fun for delving, I haven't played much bow, and I might try Windripper MF at some point out of curiosity. But idk what works best for really shitty gear new league bow char etc. Prob lightning arrow idk?

Edit: wtf grats Alur on 1st attempt HC uber elder, I didnt even attempt him on SC this league D:

Lots of changes in the manifesto this time around. Seems like a attacker/minion hybrid guardian as well as pathfinder (with Agony) will be a good option this league. Also pretty interesting that they finally try to make all movement skills good. If Flame Dash indeed gets a decently larger range PLUS higher cast speed, that will be pretty damn good - even with the cool down.

As for nerfing traps (aside from maybe Lightning Trap + Fire Trap?), I guess that's okay. Mines will get weaker too, and Detonate Mines wasn't mentioned as instant skill, so if it isn't in the patch notes I won't play a miner for sure.

I think there are still some more numerical balance changes in the patch notes though. As it is right now, I'm sure the best build for fast lvl 100 will be BV Elementalist with Inpulsa again.

I think the go to for bow leveling would be shrapnel shot into blast rain/RoA, if you're on trade league you should be able to make it decently smooth by occasionally buying 1c bows, but SSF it's definitely going to be slower than sunder/molten strike/traps.

None of the changes seem to nerf my Golemancer plans, I will only need to redo my passive skill tree since they did changes to it. Flame Dash buff even works in my favour since I was thinking about using Golem unique in both hands so no use for Shield Charge. Also maybe new LW will work as a 3L now.

start off with passive nodes, then slowly farm up till you can afford jewels and respec. that seems pretty straightforward.

I'll probably just find a way to do sunder until 70ish lol. I'm more interested in this league and the bow stuff for long-term goals, not necessarily the flavor of leveling if it's going to be as painful as everyone makes it sound. We'll see.

Need to get home from work so I can start reading all these manifestos n shit

Caustic Arrow sounds pretty damn strong at a glance. They basically doubled the damage and halfed the duration. Combined with Herald of Agony that we totally won't call "HoA" it might even be reasonable to level with. Deadeye/Pathfinder and even Trickster sound cool for that.

Apart from that I'm eyeing Necro Spectres, might be one of the best scaling builds this league. Not sure if getting max block is still reasonably easy.

...Hiero into LL RF Guardian would be another thing, but hnggg... not sure.

Hmmm...

Lightning and Fire Trap got buffed, interesting.

The new minion clusters sound pretty bonkers at a glance, including a passive that gives the scourge bonus to you via the passive tree. There's gotta be bullshit builds just with that one notable, maybe even as a guardian. Guardian summoner in general could be funny.

I hope we can get the gem info before launch, the buff to Caustic Arrow is still insane. Currently 765 dmg/s and 4.8s duration, after the patch 1714.8 dmg/s and 2s duration at lvl 20.

e: Path of building is updated for the passive tree, we won't get the gems and whatnot before the GGPK file is out though - aka prolly a few hours before launch.

Maybe I'm going to try some Dominating Blow Necromancer build with Zombie + Spectre support (with the Apes that give Frenzy Charges as Spectres I think?). Intent would be to not actually try to do good melee damage but just let your minions get the Dominating Blow summons from killing while the dom blow debuff is up. Could even use Queen's Escape maybe, that way the melee dmg would be even more garbage though.

The build would rely on the minion part of Dominating Blow being worth to scale though... Most Dominating Blow builds I'm seeing on the build section of reddit are more self dps focussed. Minion damage support for example would be somehing I'd choose but it only affects the minions (which I don't think we even know are only melee, btw??).

That said, I like the idea of the build. If it's terrible, the passive tree can be switched to SRS pretty easily which is something that I could be playing as well and got pretty nicely buffed with the accuracy and extra minion damage stuff.

Are you going to go ham? You will not be going crit with this bow and non crit bow attacks are crap. At best that normal attack will let you kill that boss a bit faster but you would probably still benefit more with using Blight with 2x jewel to get 50% more damage with chaos damage. Also a faster bow and new Wither support to stack more wither debuffs.

Caustic arrow is absurd in every single way, kinetic blast mechanic with good single target? Sign me up. Full abyss gear with a good bow and as many phys bow + life abyss jewels for 7k+ hp and excellent damage.

Hmm, I wonder if the Guardian passive that says Sentinels use Crusade Slam is affecting Dominating Blow minions (since they're Sentinels) and not only Herald of Purity ones. If so, scrap my idea above, that's probably too good to skip. If you go Guardian, you'll need a hefty amount of damage to make use of Herald of Purity while using other minions or the Dominating Blow minions most probably since I don't think minion kills will spawn Sentinels of Purity (it says when *you* kill after all). Plus if you wanna support Herald of Purity well you probably can scrap Hatred and other auras (unless using The Coming Calamity, but I wanna try SSF this time) especially since Dominating Blow isn't the cheapest mana wise (got lowered from 12 to 8 though).

Are you going to go ham? You will not be going crit with this bow and non crit bow attacks are crap. At best that normal attack will let you kill that boss a bit faster but you would probably still benefit more with using Blight with 2x jewel to get 50% more damage with chaos damage. Also a faster bow and new Wither support to stack more wither debuffs.

Blight debuff is additive with other increased damage taken modifiers, like the (up to) 90% from wither and 25% from despair, so it would rarely be 50% more. But I don't see why attacking and applying blight are mutually exclusive, you can run spell totem with blight and a mirage archer with barrage withering touch .

ZiggyD has a video showcasing a bunch of the new Guardian summoner stuff, HolydaKing. Quite a different vibe to a Necro summoner - curious to see how it does in maps with a bunch of minion speed.

Also, looking for advice from people who've played SSF before - if you're looking to target-farm not-too-rare divination cards for build-specific uniques, is it better to do it while levelling or wait until endgame?

e.g., I could try and farm up The Incantation ~17-27 in A2 Western Forest, ~48-58 in A6 Western Forest or wait until T3 Burial Chambers; ditto A Mother's Parting Gift in A3 Imperial Gardens ~30-40 or A8 High Gardens ~58-whenever.
