Obliteration BV is the main thing I could imagine to be good at Occultist other than the mentioned ones.

If you play that build non-ssf you can probably get more reg to make your experience a bit more chill.

The mention of witch getting lesser poison support made me want to consider occultist poison something.
I'm really tempted to do an attack chieftain. But don't know what to do really. Since im a pleb I might grind oni-goroshi for that nice "free" 6link. It's so nice having 6 links. Frostbolt totems has also piqued my interest.

Wait which Elder's Unstable Phase the patch note talks about ?

To be honest I'm not all that keen for the league so maybe ill play standard instead, until newer stuff gets a little more clear. But by then I wont have any league currency and ill be sad if I find something interesting. Maybe dota2 it is

I was wondering that too.... A few unexplained things in here..

So I was convinced deadeye would be the build to go for my winderipper mf starting char. but it looks like raider is just much better numbers in PoB. Although it isn't counting the extra arrow or chain for TS, and not counting the chain for barrage, so who knows? Has anyone else played around with this? Giving up chain for fast and deadly gives significantly more dps than chain, but still less than raider. And even with the current changing winds and QOTF its still less move speed than raider, assuming you can keep up full frenzy charges and onslaught as raider, which I believe you can?
|
did you enable tailwind in the config?
if the math works out like that then oh well, raider again =D

I did. The assumptions I made were: raider at full frenzy charges and onslaught, taking avatar of the slaughter and avatar of the chase nodes, vs deadeye with tailwind and 2 skills used recently (seems more or less realistic when running and clearing a map I guess?) taking gathering winds, endless munitions, and ricochet. This is using quantity gear though, so only 10 move speed from goldwyrm, using QOTF but not much evasion from goldwyrm and sedimas, with quicksilver and diamond flask enabled. I get 109k TS dps and 548k barrage dps, and 119 move speed with the +1 arrow and chain not counting towards TS and chain not counting towards barrage.
For raider using same gear I get 170k tornado shot dps, 728k barrage dps, and 140 move speed.
Maybe I'm missing something here, maybe the added arrow for TS and chain for both adds more in useful dps than the difference in the numbers?

ofc the chain and extra arrow will help with the clear immensly, but the DPS difference is pretty stark. Especially with barrage it's pretty cut and dry. maybe raider is just better, I don't know. the advantage of deadeye is that you can drop chain / pierce from your links, since you can get it from the Ascendency, which should give you another more multiplier over Raider. on the other hand, Raider gets free onslaught, so it's got an extra flask over Deadeye, so make sure flasks are balanced?
I wouldn't stress out too much over it because either way the gear and passives will be mostly the same, and you can respec between the two later on if it matters a lot. I would pick the one that is clearly better with low gear, from Day 1 - Day 5

bo1b, how is a Slayer going to catch Pokemon?

Evo asking the real questions

But it might be worth for the fun to play something else.
Where is the dmg coming from as windripper and quantity gear btw? Herald of ice, what more?
|
Flat ele and wed from gear/jewels.

I'm thinking of some Kind of CoC GC-Trickster (or Assassin). I loved my Cospris-Discharger but it was absolute trash against Guardians and this should do better (with or whiteout broken Trickster ascendancy)?

I was also so confused by that. I got explained that the "Unstable Elder" phase is the phase with the elder having some bondage fun with the shaper and portals spawn mobs while the shaper does his thing. Apparently you can let the shaper die to skip the whole portal phase. I had no idea the allied shaper could be targeted by monsters.
You will still be able to do so in 3.2 but it will prevent watcher's eye jewels from dropping at all.
