That jewel I'm sure has the highest possibility of being a chase unique. It's very useful for many builds and is a jewel, which in general are hard to find.

I fail to see what is that amazing about this jewel, can anyone enlighten me?
The 1-4 extra passive pts you spend on being able to connect to a tree instead of a dmg /leech node etc. and then missing an actual good 3 or 4 stats jewel doesnt seem better than the unique jewel that adds the bonus?

Really I'm just interested in the 0.5% crit chance and 25 all stats for basically any scion assassin build. Best used for stat-stacking builds like Brutus's lead sprinkler or HoWA/Whispering Ice etc which already benefit from scion granting them up to 60 of their preferred base stat, now getting another 25 for free.

The thing is, scion assassin is already debatably better than real assassin with the permanent uptime on the crit chance and the many free passives, and that's before you factor in other neat scion bonuses (this is mostly because crit poison builds are in such an atrocious place right now). Buffing her crit chance to 2% full just makes it not even a contest anymore. Although I'd probably use this jewel as a straight assassin myself just for the crittiness of it all, even though it wouldn't be strictly optimal I'm sure.

5% ele pen is powerful but not really worth a jewel without touching another start which you generally don't want to do except as scion anyway (plus inquisitor doesn't want it). Most of the other bonuses are underwhelming at best outside of maybe witch being interesting.

Also I suppose hypothetically some awful iron commander build lol

Either abysses are insane for XP or GGG didn't figure out that beachheads were the real problem with the race to 100 last league (like 3x the experience of basically any other xp farming strategy with no risk) but whatever.

Not sure about the wither nerfs but the vuln replacement curse seems interesting for chaos builds

Was also about to post that the nerf list seems surprisingly small. Facebreakers were untouched and doomfletch prism will still love those new abyss jewels.

I predict abyssal socket items will be super valuable. An abyss jewel might be equivalent to perhaps 3 ring affixes, using more of them will be super strong.

I think this isn't a list of "significant nerfs" but a list of "nerfs we wanted to add a public explanation to".

Sunder/Spectres/KB being untouched would all surprise me.

I was planning on going for another 100 this league but I dunno... would take probably another week of hard grinding with the exp nerfs. Also I was planning on doing with scion doomfletch but the bow + barrage nerfed xD

Nice patch, love me some nerfs. Experience nerfs don't matter for me since I never push a single char so high, but they are also very expected. Remember when GGG wanted leveling to 100 take months? So it's not a huge surprise, but together with the nerfs it'll take more than twice as long as before I'm pretty sure. Which still will be only about 2 weeks to the most dedicated I guess.

Double leech rate will still be good, however the node is also moving so lots of builds will have to change their pathing. But it won't be instant anymore, so squishy bow/wand builds won't be able to tank everything that doesn't one shot them anymore. They'll be playable with more micromanagement, but Barrage will suffer a lot due to it being best in close range so that it hits with all projectiles. I always liked Blast Rain more, but if that has to be used (probably in HC, or just use Tornado Shot all the way. Another alternative would be using only Kinetic Blast as ST for wanders and mainly playing maps with lots of walls) without any buffs to it then that's a huge dps loss.

But let's see the whole Patch Notes, I'm hopeful for more skill balance changes.

reflect also going away means that VP is less important while mapping. I'd say builds that relied on VP to face tank bosses like Chimera or Shaper are in real trouble, while pure mappers should be fine? just a bit more scared if you're fighting some of the new map bosses or something like Gorge boss.

Slayer leech / some of the leech nodes got hurt a bit... should be fine for slayer mappers. Not sure for slayer lab runner
