No lol. I just assumed that everyone asking questions here is already a TL guild member :D
And when I was learning about all this stuff I was not in any guild. I also only joined few leagues ago. Guild people certainly helped me about learning many advanced stuff about mapping and some more obscure mechanics.
If you'd like to join, you're welcome to. You're even welcome to ask 'stupid' questions in guild chat, that's what it's there for. Feel free to just drop a character name in here and someone will toss you an invite.
For your new build plan that's also something people can help you out a bit if you give us an idea of what you're looking for roughly. "Dex based" can pretty quickly turn into a synonym for "squishy" =P
Well, squishy is what i am currently (more like ice on the sun), so i'd rather go with something a bit more tanky. Or not even tanky, just less volatile. I wasn't kidding when i said my HP went down to dead/alive/dead/alive three times a second, entirely life leech based defense is something that i thought was fun, but turned out that while fun, it's also stressful. It doesn't need to be dex based, that's just me spitballing - gonna go through forums after i completed my wifes order of building a marquise. -.-

Didn't even know that such thing existed.
I'm gonna drop a character name one i figured one out, have to go bob the builder for a bit now, hehe.

Game is made in such a way that life going up down is almost normal. There might be some builds that get hit very rarely but most depend on either not being close enough to get attacked or outleech or out heal potion enemies.
Even my current Dodge/spell dodge/evasion one gets hit and loses lots of health then which I leech then and hope to fill my HP to full before next big hit happens.
Probably some block and spell block and high evasion build can get hit a bit less often but you sacrifice offense in that case. More layers of defense means less layers of offense. And sometimes killing enemy faster is worth more (especially with potions lasting only a few seconds)
Yeah i assumed so, but currently it actually is (even on golden trashmobs) me being hit once, and if i somehow can't get to leech a hit (melee), i flop over on the second one guaranteed.
I do understand the concept more offense = less defense/more offense/time spent on mob, but again, it's trashmobs that we're talking about, not necessarily bosses although they're obviously problematic too. More importantly, this build relies on getting hit really hard, to get that bonus from the ascendancy tree (iirc) - if i have many small mobs hitting me for too long, i can't counterheal that either. I think the biggest problem is simply that i literally have to stand in the face of someone and physically connect a hit to leech. There's no failsafe, like a procc or anything that does damage/heals me - if i can't hit, or missclick, i die. Even worse, i use multistrike/wildstrike, one right click and my character stands still for a while hitting three times (two of which often are "air"). It's fun, but i don't think i go far with that one.
It's my first character, i fully expected him to "fail". Made it to 70, that's good enough for me/first character. Next one i'll make less mistakes. Gonna skim through forums now and have a look at builds, i don't feel confident enough to entirely build a character on my own yet. I think the third, maybe fourth one would be "my creation" - for now i'm still learning the ropes, and what kinda gems there are/how they interact with the skill board etc.
I've seen a build, have to figure out if that's viable for me though. A "Glad Vampire"? Bleed Flurry Brutality? I don't know if that's cornerstones of the build or just advert for it though :D
Question. For a (very) low budget build, Golemancer or Spectre builds? I watch Dansgaming occasionally, i don't exactly know what guide he's following, but i do see his map clear speed, and i feel like a build that clears maps fast is more important (for now) than a build that does bosskills well. As i understand, maps are the "main source" of income.
Golemancers require expensive unique jewels so skip that one. SRS is a great starter build (what Dan is playing). If you want a safe and good build that will let you farm easily you can play that one. Also that one is capable to doing end game after you invest a bit more currency into it (which not all builds can, unless you can invest godly amounts of currency).
Yeah the one that Dan is playing is the one i currently search for, just not sure which one that exactly is.
Trying to figure that out via his profile/comparing it to the roughly 20523 summoner builds in the forum takes a while ^^
edit, and yeah, farming is what i'm going for, for now. Getting some orbs, and a feel for maps etc, what modifiers do, all those things. I'm not after Shaper yet, or Uber Atziri. Yet.
edit2: hm, that one actually might be his own design. Guess i'll go with one of the countless SRS builds there. :D
I am not sure Dan was following a specific guide, at least he claimed on stream he was not. For a good SRS build you probably want RaizQT one he played on SSFHC and got first to lvl 100 with it.
As for your current build, I don't know what skill you are using but switching to Sunder, Frost Blades, Cyclone or Blade Flurry is going to make it much better.
Tell me what weapon and ascendancy you are using and I and others can give you advice on how to fix it. Also giving us link to your current passive tree we can help you (you can get that from your character profile page on official poe page)
EDIT: Another option is that you download Path of Building, import your character into it (Import/Export Build tab), save it and then give us a Path of Building link so we can import it into our PoBs and see all stats of it and give you even more useful advice.
I am pretty sure Raiz does not keep his profile private so if you can find his profile name you can access the character and see his tree and all his gear and gem links. You can also import his character into your Path of Building and have it permanently saved there so you can reference it easily.
Rarity: Rare Golem Beads Marble Amulet -------- Requirements: Level: 74 -------- Item Level: 76 -------- 1.53% of Life Regenerated per second -------- +49 to Strength +75 to maximum Life +46 to maximum Energy Shield +16% to all Elemental Resistances +1 Mana gained on Kill 12% increased Armour
where increased Armour is the master craft. Im so glad right now. :D
Yeah, saw it - got PoB downloaded even before the game finished. Trying to figure out my login to import the Berserker, but i log in via steam? No idea what login that is/was.
For SRS you can't go wrong if you follow guides by Karvarousku, TheUberElite, RaizQT or even Ghazzy - all of them should be rather similar in practice.
For more 'classic' summoners I'm not so sure, Angryafrican might still be your best bet. He seems active this league.
After that, you rush the duration nodes in Scion area to help with Flesh Offering and SRS. You may want to also go through Crypt and get the jewel socket for dex + res. After the Duration Nodes, go through the bottom side of Gravepact.
Could someone briefly point out to me what "Crypt" is in this context?

He means this jewel that can be gotten from the "Crypt quest" in A2 (respec quest, "Through Sacred Ground").

Myself and a buddy are playing through a couple classes right now - him a life/armour Juggernaut that generally uses cyclone and bleed to murder everything, myself a life / ES chaos wand Occultist. In general, I've been ~25-40% ahead of him in total "health" but had a lot harder time surviving and maintaining max all resists despite being a ranged build. There are quite a few hefty "+% all elemental resistances" nodes around the Marauder/Duelist area that have made gearing up his dude sooooooooooo much easier/cheaper. Not needing triple 25% elemental resists on certain pieces of gear means grabbing up HP or actually getting any chaos resistance is feasible.
In the long run its probably suboptimal (idk I am le nub) but if you're looking to play something that feels tanky, starting somewhere in that neck of the skilltree seems like a good idea.
Cheers, but i found something better for now: SRS. Hold RMB for 6 seconds, and then run around to loot the next 2 screens.
Might be not that great at bosses and stuff, but for now it feels considerably less volatile. I'm pretty sure i'll, at some point, end up with a block based build (if i find something viable), maybe MoM on top, like properly tanky (/slow) - but for now SRS feels proper good.
