We are talking shavs here too :D Yeah, the tree is LL. Then I see how its no problem at all to get everything done. Especially on a 5L. The thing to take away for me is probably to try to fit in a clarity and see if I can find a good balance between mana regen and leftover manapool, probably. This is something that I didn't try yet.

Woops my mistake, it was indeed low life. I was CI at first but dropped a shavs so it was an easy switch.

Is this game relatively easy for casual play? Haven't touched Diablo 3 in ages but this game seems like a good alternative.

I wouldn't exactly say that "casual" and "PoE" are mutually exclusive, but depending on your definition of "casual" that could get difficult if you want to see most of the content as well. Although if you ignore everything that requires reading half of the wiki and just pick a nice build with a guide to follow, I'd say its definitely worth a shot (For starters and your first char its probably the best strategy anyway imho). Even if you still dont manage to see EVERYTHING the game has to offer, its still a pretty good experience.
Considering its f2p, I'd say just check it out, and if you have any questions, just ask them

Play essence drain/contagion, and then get to like level 85 and if you enjoy the game by then you'll probably get some enjoyment out of it.
|
Not a fan of essence drain as starter build myself, it was my 2nd char and i hated leveling with it and playing it at lower levels with not much understanding of the mechanics. (so much that i actually respecced to fireball/flameblast halfway through leveling
For casuals who dont mind melee i think EQ is just amazing, one of the big pro's of PoE to me at the start was how fucking satisfying it is to kill monsters and how they explode. Was a big part that drew me in :D
That aside, i think its an awesome game for casuals to play here and there IF your goal is to have fun and kill some monsters. If your goal is to experience all content and do everything you could possibly do, its really bad and you will need to put in more hours.

Good news everyone!
"There will be another race weekend similar to the one we ran during Essence League. We expect to post the details later this week. "

Not a fan of race weekends, I agree with Mors and xaitv on reddit.

It's not like you can properly practice or anything either.
That said, it does feel a little ungrateful. If this is the response racing gets when GGG gives it, then they'll literally 100% give up on racing entirely right?
|
I think there are enough GGG employees who enjoy racing for it to never disappear completely. It might affect what little support racing gets in the short term, but asynchronous races are most likely still gonna be a thing.
I have no idea what a race weekend actually implies, but from what I've read in the meantime, it has many flaws. Hype levels dwindling

its just kinda lame. no points or demis, only reward is random chance at mtx drawing. I'd much prefer a 48h race or flashback or something along those lines
it can be fun because theres a race every 2 hours, you can experience a lot of stuff you might've missed. for example headhunter race is super fun

going to try Abyssal Cry on my Bflury Poison build, for better breach / aoe clearing. Never used the skill before, do I need to link anything to it or is 1L enough for it do work?

Also you need Inc AoE from the tree if you don't have any. Abyssal has a miniscule base AoE.

it works well but it tanks my fps to 0 if I explode too many dudes =/ which was my whole reason for using the skill. ah well
gave Grim Dawn another chance it's actually prty fun. had more enjoyment when I made my own build. minute to minute gameplay is still kinda ehh but it's good enough

Is there any actual end game content in Grim Dawn? Last time it was recommended I asked someone what sets it apart from Diablo 3 or Path of Exile and they told me it was just a level up simulator more akin to Diablo 2 PvE or Titan Quest.

Well, there is Crucible which is kinda like a tower defense map. There are (unlimited?) rounds in which monsters spawn and attack you and you have to kill those fast enough. The more rounds you survive the better the reward (chests with loot).
Also exploding monsters in PoE is fun, one reason why Gladiator is really cool imo.
|
I dunno, haven't reached max level yet. I'm mostly just playing it because I'm a bit burnt out on PoE. this game is like another torchlight for me so far, at least fun enough for a playthrough or two

race weekend schedule is out. I'm probably going to do a handful of the fun / good armour set ones. If anyone wants to do BLAMT party or Exiles Everywhere let me know

Well there are end game rogue dungeons. They kind of work like Zana quest where you only get one life/portal to finish the objective. Except objective here is to survive until the end of it and kill the last boss and there you find a portal out. And people also get ingame factions to most hated status and then farm their top level bosses that only start spawning at that point. And for bonus points you can challenge an avatar of a God to a duel and see how you do there.

As far as PoE, I put it on pause and started playing Long War 2 for Xcom 2. I will be sure to try out 3.0, probably skip 2.6 unless patch notes and unique league mechanics for some reason make me come back.

man i almost got a demi in blamt party once that's how retardedly meme-y those races are
fond memory though
