as a marauder, what is the best way to level as I move towards RT earthquake?
do I pick groundslam, or molten strike? I am guessing molten strike.
And then should I move on to sunder when it becomes available?

I find Ground Slam to be far more satisfying to level with. It's also a lot safer than Molten Strike if you are playing HC. I would pick Ground Slam for AoE and Molten Strike for single target.

no reason not to run both early levelling
sunder replaces your AoE skill when you get it, earthquake replaces everything

I hate both. I often level with Cleave (else Ground Slam, it depends what weapons drop from Hillock lol) until Cavern of Wrath and then pick Sweep, which imo is fastest skill to level with until Earthquake. And I'm also a fan of Sweep, shift+rightclick is so much more fun than targeting. However Earthquake allows both so against that it's no bonus.
But yeah if you aren't feeling comfortable and wanna play it safe, go Ground Slam + Sunder with Molten Strike as ST.

You can buy it, but it's no quest reward. I always buy it when Hillock drops some rare Sword/Axe, if he drops a 2h Mace I go Ground Slam, if neither... depends on my mood lol. That's how it was when I raced at least.
Bonus with Cleave is that a lot of Swords/Axes drop, while you can be really unlucky with 2h weapons early on from my experience and there's less tiers.

Slayer's two-handed weapon damage applies to bows as well as melee weapons right? I might do a special snowflake Rain of Arrows Slayer Duelist.

I think I decided on my build now, I kinda created it myself so tell me if it's utter crap. It's an Explosive Arrow Elementalist build with a lot of Mana and Mana Regen, taking Mind over Matter and getting highest possible AoE and decent Life, at least for Softcore. Idk if the damage is too low though, could probably drop the Scion AoE (fairly inefficient) but I liked the idea of maxing it, since AoE is usually the biggest clearspeed limiting factor. Could use Carcass Jack too for even more.
I think there are some experts on EA here, right? I'm fairly sure Sn0_Man for example played it recently. Though he IIRC went Bloodmagic build with a lot more Life. I thought when going Elementalist, which I want, going Mana is a better choice and I've seen a CI EA video where the guy easily managed it with far less mana investment (though he's using a pot, which I would be no problem for me if necessary). I considered going CI too, but meh, not a good idea on a first char from my experience.
I would use Orb of Storms for proccing Mastermind of Discord btw, probably with Crit Chance support so that Elemental Overload procs more often too.

Played elementalist EA myself recently to 92 in flashback (was going for 95 but then decided to stop.)
I find this build really different and quite interesting. I don't know how powerful it is but it has nice thought behind it.
Mine had 210% fire dmg from tree in total and 20% aoe but proliferation ascendancy. (Which works extremely nicely) It worked really nice, I'd shoot 2-3 EA into a room and clear 50 mobs really fast. The build was so smooth and fast with 271% life, although it didn't have MoM.
I feel the life is better than MoM since you also get blood magic (my build had 7.7% hp regen)
Here's the one I used http://poeurl.com/E0o but if you wanna try the mana based EA you should be aware of how expensive EA is. You'll most likely have to use mana flask which is a downside for EA.
Take that dynamo too if you still wanna try it.

Ah true, Dynamo looks rather good. I missed that, thanks. If you think it could work like this, I'll try it. The guy of the CI vid I posted has only 63% mana and 105% mana regen, which is far less mana (regen) and it works with a single mana flask, which makes me hopeful that with my build MoM can fit. And using a single mana flask would be no big problem for me.

Does it have to be those two? I'd go for Windripper then, but I'm not an expert... It would at least be something different and honestly I can't see it being bad, Inquisitor ignore res is so good and if you go for some ele auras it should be great.

Since you take only 50% of reflect dmg you could replace the fire flask with mana flask. Comparing to 2.2 patch you aren't really losing anything. Post how the build turned out when you've completed it.

I'm playing in a duo all the time and my mate will maybe duo curse Blasphemy, so ... I intended to just use Clarity and AA. Not sure if that's too much mana left though. If he doesn't end up using Blasphemy or Curses at all, then I could probably fit in one. More would probably reduce the mana too much for MoM, so not a good idea. Also your build has even less Life and far less regen, which of course wouldn't matter IF you could use 2 curses, but I'm sure it's limiting the mana too much.
edit: oh you said CWDT curses lol, need to read better... i honestly don't think that's a good idea.
edit2: and yes, I'm mostly worried about getting one shot. wanna complete the uber labyrinth.
