If you use the API in the way it's designed, it works really well. All Valve did was add a metaphorical if(user_incompetently_calls_upon_our_API(@capcomlol), make_our_API_run_better()) function. It shouldn't offer many improvements for already competent people.

Looks like the torch is passed on to Aylear, who will no doubt do an excellent job as he already have. OP looks GREAT! As for the Steam netplay API update, all I have to say is FINALLY! Today is an awesome day indeed ![]()

I haven't added any streams to the calendar list because they are usually chosen pretty late. You will probably have to check the latest posts in this thread to find the streams, unless I'm around to update the OP (which will usually happen during a major tournament, but no promises!). Edit: Oh yeah, and happy 500! ♥

I added a section in the OP specifically for highlights & best moments in Street Fighter IV history. Tonight I added seven of them off the top of my head, but I'd like more. This is your excuse to shower this thread with love by posting your absolute favourite videos from Street Fighter IV -- matches, moments, hype, noise, awesome, fail. Best of the best. Blue+bold because you should totally do this, if only so that we all can relive some of SFIV's most memorable moments.

It's unlikely to boost many other titles (since no titles that I know of had such broken netplay as USF4), but at the least it won't negatively affect them. As an example, Skullgirls always used the same API as USF4, but that game worked completely fine because it was designed around the Steam netplay API -- that is to say, it used the API competently, unlike Street Fighter. I was thinking about how to connect our community of players. A Steam group is very bare bones; you can't tell people anything about yourself. Unless you've got a better idea, I'd be happy to add and maintain a section in the OP for TL players. It would be great to meet you all and find some people to play with. If we do go that route, I think we should probably include at least the Steam name, PP (if any) or maybe even your approximate skill level on a scale from 1 to 10, what characters you play, whether you're looking for regular practice partners or just someone to play Endless with, and any relevant information about yourself.

Even so, the matchmaking was a big part of why it was lagging so bad in Street Fighter -- just the fact that matchmaking was run on the same thread as the game was a really bad idea.

That is intense. Felt so bad for J Wong at the end he was beastin it so hard. (You have to continue to the next parts to see the whole thing)
