Super Turbo allows "old" characters to be picked; knee-jerk calling tournament rules on this one ahead of time is silly. A few years down the line from now, I could definitely see people being allowed to pick an older variant if their Ultra version is widely regarded as pretty bad.
And even if all tourneys will run Ultra only, you better believe money matches and casuals will be enjoyable as hell. Sure, some years down the line anything is possible, but that's only after SF5 comes out and people get bored with playing the game normally. The throwback mode is obviously way less balanced than Ultra, so I don't know how anyone could assume that it would immediately replace Ultra as the tournament standard. And if you do, I will gladly escrow a bet with you for any amount that you can produce. For casuals, whatever, people can do what they want. Most people use casuals to get better, not mess around with irrelevant characters. When is it ever about "balance"? If that's the problem we would have been playing supers for the past 3 years. Tournament games are dictated by what people plays, not the other way around. The only time we ever completely ban a feature from a game is the gems and the only reason why is because it's a money buy features. Like, why anyone would just assume the mode wouldn't be played when ST was basically the same thing is beyond me. Okay, I'll be waiting for you to PM me the amount you'd like to bet, then. PM? pls. Im dead broke, but I'll put $20 on it. Payment upon announcement.
Well, it was just announced (as far as Evo goes anyway), so I guess you owe me $20.
Don't worry, I won't hold you to it. The bet was too free to begin with.

Mr. Wizard is asking on Twitter about interest for a "Yolo SF4" side tournament. It's a joke mode, exclusively for side tournaments and casuals, like I said.

I love how Infiltration is playing the most basic Chun I've ever seen, but still able to go toe-to-toe with Wao's Oni.
