And before someone goes "get a better keyboard" I'll respond with no, because I don't need it. I can play all games just fine with my laptop's one. The thing is, you probably can't. Playing SFIV on a keyboard without N-key rollover is very likely to give you problems, specially if you play characters like Juri. Say, you've charged lk and mk, is holding down-back and want to use jab? Does it come out? Even if it does, there will be button combinations that wont behave the way you expect them to.

As I said before, I'm not planning to become a pro, plus I've seen pros doing just fine w/o stick.

You don't need an arcade stick at all, I'd argue that keyboard is superior to arcade stick in many things. I suggest a control system where the thumb is jump, preferably for the right hand. Right hand also has the kick and punch keys as a cluster of 3x2 so that both those keys and the jump are comfortable to press. Furthermore, you also have issues in other games with a laptop keyboard. Jump for the right hand's thumb because if it's on the left hand your left and right motions become totally different, it's much easier if it's on the right hand. Using number keys for movement with up to jump is awful please don't even think about doing that.

I haven't tested it but I think its nearly impossible to precisely and consistently teleport at varying heights using wasd. Should probably play Boxer or Guile on keyboard.

You can get them for not too much money(especially in cheap ass Sweden ), you feel that you have much more control over your character, AND it gives you that nice arcade feel when playing. I really regret that I didn't bring my arcade stick to my dads place during summer ![]()

First of all I'm deciding whether or not I'm gonna buy a new stick but in the meantime, I'm wondering; is it possible to do instant air teleports with the keyboard? I haven't tested it but I think its nearly impossible to precisely and consistently teleport at varying heights using wasd. Should probably play Boxer or Guile on keyboard. I don't know anything about teleporting, but I usually play on stick, and just tried playing keyboard today. It's NOT the same, and I suggest you buy another stick. Even the cheap ones like this are better than keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Fighting-Stick-V3-Playstation-3/dp/B0057WDBHA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374588700&sr=8-1&keywords=hori v3

Of course, after Xian won Evo, it was worth just messing around with him and I just enjoy how he plays But does anyone know where there's some basics and/or tutorials/guides for him? Landing a normal into super and ultra is always satisfying even if it is so cheap!

I looked into fightsticks and ended up ordering the Mad Catz WWE BrawlStick and a suite of Sanwa components. Now all I need is a custom decal and I should have an stick that is much better than I am. Does anyone know any good resources for making designs, everything I've come up with is pretty mediocre.

Remapped to something like this..wow thats gonna take some time getting used to but it seems way better.

And getting a stick is not an option for me, because it most likely won't fit on my desktop. And since I'm having an office chair with armrest, it will be weird of me having it their. Plus I already have a set-up that I enjoy, why change a winning concept?

They're nice and heavy (in particular the TE series has a good amount of bulk to it so it's not going to slide around). Armrests or not, you'll still have plenty of room.

Ok, but because I'm a poor student, IF, big emphasis on IF, I'm gonna end up buying one, it won't be until later this year (which means just in time for Ultra)

Still, it's very strong. It's basically having an uppercut mixed with something like the Yun's shoulder for the cross under mix up possibilities. Fex example provided - f+LP > ex fuki, or crLK/crMP os ex fuki. - Jump attack OS ex fuki - air to air > land > ex fuki crossdown mixuo - ex fuki > ultra2 Etc

If it's just a busted button or busted stick gates, you can order those online and put them in yourself. Buttons are dirt cheap and a decent stick is around 25 dollars which will last a pretty long time. I'd look into this before buying a new one :p.

I suppose that would be the most sensible thing to do : ) All the buttons still work, it's just the stick itself that is the issue. It doesn't register any inputs to the left. Do you think that replacing the stick would fix this? It might be a problem with a chip or something. Anyway, gonna try it out first, thanks! edit: What would be the best place to order parts in Europe?
