Frankly, mixups are just a part of fighting games, and they're an important part. The only question is how easy they are to set up, and how much reward you get from them. UMvC3 is at the extreme high end of the spectrum with easy mixups into 100% damage, while I feel SF4 is towards the lower end. There does need to be a way to deactivate cutscenes, because it seems like the developers are getting more and more silly with the length, and it really disrupts the match flow at times. From what I saw it seems to have less 50/50 situations but when you get punished, you... really... get... punished. The damage output of some of the loops are just lolllll. That said never played much GG but really liked Blazblue, so I dunno.

I liked the music in that vid though, strangely catchy.

Yeah in the original CarlClover had an infinite loop (clap loop), once you were in it you were dead. People thought Yun's loop was imbalanced, well this is like Yun's loop except you don't need a wall, you don't need super, and its infinite. Dio was the best at it. I think they got rid of the infinite in the expansions though, not sure, I only played original.

The limited edition version of Blazblue also came with a 2nd disc that showed off other insane combos that were essentially an entire health bar (like 60 hit combos). I also didn't play the followup so I'm not sure if they toned any of that down, but yeah SF4 is by far on the lower end of giant dmg combos.

Also don't fall into the belief that the more number of hits, the more damaging the combo. That is not to say only combo-oriented fighters have longer combos + damage. Games like the KoF series also had fairly lengthy combos and potential loops. There's also Hokuto no Ken and its silly basketball combos. But this is besides the point of this thread. Honestly speaking, the problem with the SF4 "unblockables", is that the system doesn't really give you the opportunity to escape or deal with the situation. That is not to say it is impossible to deal with it, I'm just saying if a similar situation happened in another fighter (but not all!), there would at least be a tool or method to deal with it better.

I am pretty damn excited for the finals of the Swedish E-Sport Championships at DH Summer. The competition has been so good overall (especially the last final, super-close Viper - Chun-Li match). Plus, we've seen a couple of times where "bad characters" has beaten "good characters", so anything might happen!

In the qualifier final that he won, he played Camey perfectly how Camey should be played against a T.Hawk

Pretty sure a player like popi wont even be going to EVO. Would be pretty nice to have true global competition in Fighting Games :/ If anything, the Swedish E-Sports Champs has shown that lesser known/successful (on paper) players can produce awesome content. I don't think the names Chewie and Zelpher is that known in the international scene, but that final they played between each other... Dayum But some contest like The International in Dota2 is something that I, as a causal watcher, feels that the scene needs

Not sure how he will do. He might be caught by surprise by some Japanese player or something there.
