The main use of the teleport is that the existence of it invalidates certain option selects if the opponent assumes that you might use it sometimes. Btw, it's currently really annoying to me how when Evil Ryu does a divekick that looks like it hits behind them people say "ambiguous divekick". Evil Ryu's divekick basically never crosses up. I think I tried to get it to cross up for like an hour and it never did, no matter how it looked like. Could be characterspecific. If the forumposters are switching from Sakura to Evil Ryu I cannot really understand it. She has far better footsies, better confirms, better FADC damage, easier ultras to combo into, better neutral, better setups... Evil Ryu has like, the better defensive play with his DP and his better crouch tech option select but that still is nothing amazing. Oh and I guess Evil Ryu does better against Dan because apparently people say that Dan > Sakura which I definitely won't believe. | ||

PS3 is basically the same except the L2 and R2 buttons are poop. Really though, the type of controller you use is just like mouse/keyboard in SC2. It can help make you more comfortable, but it's not going to make you a better player. Out of curiosity, do you use the D-Pad or analog stick? I don't really know about the history of this Sakura/Evil Ryu thing on TL, but I will be sticking with Sakura until SF5, and repping her at Evo. I might have to give in to Chun loyalty if they make her top tier again, though. | ||

The big reason to switch to a FightPad is that it has all 6 buttons on the face of the pad, but honestly I think the D-Pad feels like ass. All you need is practice. | ||

I'm picking up Evil Ryu for funsies, nothing more. I woulda switched to him if they ruined Sakura but it seems like she's popular enough (and capcom is smart enough) not to give her the Yang treatment. I have a lot of faith in Capcom's balancing of this game after seeing what they did to Yun, and how he remains a competitive character. I'm looking forward to some weaker characters getting additional utility or damage or what have you. in the ideal fighting game, every character is competitive. That's how KoF13's balance is done and it works beautifully. It's just harder to do in this game because not every character can abuse the game systems as much as the next - if you have an invincible reversal that you can make safe on block for two bars, you got a leg up. If you have better post-knockdown setups than the next guy and can get fat damage off that game, you got a leg up. That's not a complaint though, and it shouldn't be taken as one. As silly as it may be, I love this game to death :D And I don't even feel like a tier whore because I picked up the ridiculous monster that is Sakura way back in Super, when she was already this strong, just overshadowed by the Hondas and Chuns and Guiles of super, and the twins/fei long of AE | ||
