So I need some sort of control with cross-compatibility, and I hate playing it on the pad I've got. Depending on how committed you are to the game, you can buy a 360 stick and dual-mod it to work with a PS3 as well, that way you can play on all three platforms. Note that getting a PS3 stick and dual-modding it the other direction is considerably more difficult because Microsoft executes validation checks on peripherals that try to access the 360, which is why you need the 360 controller's PCB.

![]() I actually really agree with infiltrations opinions on the top ten or so characters. I think it was something like: Cammy, Akuma, Seth, Fei, Adon, Viper, Sagat, Yun, Ibuki, Rufus, although not necessarily in that order.

Akuma with U2 can knockdown balrog and do demonflip palm OS u2 and beat every single one of balrog's wakeup options except block cleanly. This includes every EX, backdash, turn punch, focus, etc. Viper used to lose to balrog, but in AE they nerfed his air normals and made headbutt significantly slower so setups that ex headbutt used to escape now get punished (if you timed it right, you'd headbutt in the opposite direction of a crossup, leaving them too far away to punish in most cases). Balrog wins almost every matchup in the game until he gets knocked down imo, but those characters have nasty ways of nullifying his wakeup options and mixing him up to death once he's on his back. edit: for what it's worth, I still think balrog is relatively even against akuma. It's just frustrating as hell to play at times ![]()

I was mostly wondering because im a Viper main and in the 'viper community' I dont think Balrog is considered a particularly good matchup. Usually rated up there with Bison as one of her most annoying as fuck matchups, although definitely not suggested to be anything other than 5-5 - its just kinda frustrating to play. Seismos vs Balrog are always risky as hell and getting into close/mid range is pretty much death unless you have a knockdown/are running very tight strong pressure with decent frame advantage, and even then hes fairly difficult to open up in most situations.

I bought a MadCatz TE stick for 360. Whether it works on PS3 I'm not sure; eventually I'll mod it if it doesn't. It'll do PC for SSF4 and 360 for UMvC3, though, which was my priority.

For dualmodding, You'll need some basic electrical knowhow and it will probably take a while if you are being cautious. I wouldn't say its very risky as long as you follow instructions. I would suggest looking at either the TEasy Strike or Kitty as they are solderless methods which attach onto your 360 pcb. If you decide you can't do it, then there should be modders at most major tournaments depending on where you live, if not you could lookup your local scene and at least one person in it should have experience doing it.

Seth, Cammy, Akuma, Ibuki, Viper, Sakura. balrog bias showing just a tiny bit lmao, all knockdown vortex characters are top tier. Balrog beats the shit out of Sakura and Ibuki, plus he does very well against Viper. Cammy is even, but Akuma and Seth is hard for Rog. So no, I see no bias whatsoever.

So no, I see no bias whatsoever. Let me rephrase that... I don't see it as necessarily his bad matchups, just frustrating ones because they're the characters who "don't play street fighter" and can win off knockdowns whereas balrog is one of the strictly footsies characters that doesn't really have a lot of a mixups. Nearly every balrog player (or any footsie charge character) that I've met hates those characters, so I found it funny

Nearly every balrog player (or any footsie charge character) that I've met hates those characters, so I found it funny I can't remember who said it, but someone else expressed a similar about C.Viper and Seth. They said that both play more like marvel (mvc) characters than SF ones. That being said I'm not sure how I'll feel if everyone has to have a main and sub character to deal with problem matchups. ![]() I don't even understand his anger really, MCZ has a million players; there would be no point sponsoring so many if you never sent teammates to the same major to face one another.

There's two spots open in each qualifier. MCZ sent two of their Japanese players to the UK quals, but Ryan Hart didn't get sent to the Japanese one. It's one thing to get Mago some exposure and what not but you're deliberating hurting the chances of one of your other sponsored players qualifying at all... someone had to have thought that over before this decision was made and if they didn't... well if they didn't, lol.
