You were good man! That fucking ultra fucked me up! I've never played a Yang before, so I dunno what you were able to do! Sick fucking games man :D gg! Was definitely fun! I just started playing ahha! Nah man, I suck and I played bad, I still have no idea against buki, so I just did hard kicks, sweeps and uppercuts randomly. :D I had 5000 BP 2 days ago and now its down to 2900 BP. Abit strange, but it fits way more to my playing level, since I get fucked up all the time. It's all about PP anyway. But Im gonna rematch you any time you want.
When you rank up the amount of BP you win/lose changes alot, so when you hit the 5000 BP rank (B? cant remember) youll start losing significantly more points for losing and winning significantly less for winning. This results in the majority of people getting up to 5000bp fairly easily, but then never really getting further until they drastically improve their game so that they win a fair bit more often than they lose. You drop ranks at half the BP required for the rank iirc, so once you get down to 2500BP youll drop down to C+ or whatever the next lowest rank is, and likely shoot up in points to 5000 again - repeat until your skill levels up enough to get past the plateau :o). Im just going off of very vague memories but I think when youre C+ you need to win around 1/3 of your matches against the same PP/BP to break even on points, but when youre B its somewhere around 2/3 of your matches, so a really really big jump in skill required. Once youre up at the A ranks you need to win such a ludicrously large % of your matches its kinda silly and really does make some peoples BPs like say Latif /Wolfkrone both being around 30000 really fucking impressive :p.

How do you block against Akuma's ultra? HE always gets me ._.

Dammit, that explains that. Is Ibuki's first ultra a grab?

Ibuki's Ultra 1 is a 0+1 grab, which means that you can jump after the flash. The best way to punish it is to neutral jump out of it, hit her with a jumping hard punch and then do a full combo.

It's both. On the first frame it's a grab, but after that it leaves behind that red damaging area that I believe is a projectile. This means if your grab misses it has some other way to do damage, but it also means you can combo into it.

Thanks for the explanation, appreciate it. I guess I gotta level up faster haha. And yeah I saw the winrates of like Nemo and Daigo in one match be over 80%, thats really impressive considering they dont play scrubs all day :p

That propably helps me more than him thanks. :D That ultra does a ton of damage as well.

I dunno if this happened before to any of you but it's been happening a couple of times to me lately and... while it's not affecting me I still find it really frustrating: the other player leaves the game during the match because he's getting beaten up, thus not losing any bps...
Like I said it's not really changing anything for me but still, I felt really frustrated after it happened...

Hmm...the way to "tighten" the joystick is the turn the screw below the stick right? Mine won't budge :<

The screw on the bottom controls the balltop. If the balltop is loose and unscrewing during play, hold the balltop and screw it in. If you want the stick to be more stiff you will need to replace/add spring inside the joystick.

Should I be using my PP or BP to judge my skill level? I'm at about 1400PP and 3300BP right now and I feel like my BP doesn't drop drastically enough when I lose. I can lose up to 90PP at a time but it just seems so random for BP.

PP is player skill, basically equivalent to Elo rating because it rises and falls based on the gap between you and your opponent. BP does this too but it's influenced by certain breakpoints which makes it less reliable as a skill indicator, for example never losing any BP until you get to 500, losing very little until you get to 5000, etc.

I've heard a better way to utilize online play is to understand matchups and spacing. Because unless you get perfect connections your online and offline experiences can vastly differ.
Also who needs elo? Just Remember! You're the best!

If someone discs mid game in ranked they lose maximum PP and BP, which are some big numbers about 100ish I cant remember. The person that they disced against doesnt get any increase in PP or BP tho. Nevertheless, they are being punished for doing it far more heavily than if they had just lost. If people disc like that its generally either a connection thing or probably more commonly just someone rage alt-f4ing. Sucks you don't get your points, but who particularly cares :o).

I will almost always win overall if I run it back with someone a few times after losing the first match, but some of those first matches can be so frustrating if you're playing against a character you've barely/never faced before. That plus online play quality, between lag and silly shit, means focus more on improving and smart stuff rather than only going for the win.
I'm working on having this mentality every time I play, but sometimes it's hard not to rage a little lol.

Run it back with people you lose to due to gimmicks and tricks. I'd hit them up with a message and see if they would mind playing a few games. (Especially if they have a solid connection)
If you lose because of lag well that's just the nature of online.
