How bad was it? Are we talking RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAAAAAAAACER bad or Skittles bad? It looked like a very bad version of a Wii conference. Well that was an understatement. I skipped over the first bit since I've seen the ME3 presentation at the EA conference, don't care about CoD, watched the bit of Gears they had.
Then we got to Peter Molyneux and it was all downhill from there. I was skipping forward and could feel the trainwreck building. Then came the kids and I wanted to find a gun. Not wasting my life, it's to precious.

Oh my god, the new 3DS titles look so nice. I'm going to play the new mario kart so much, and luigi's mansion 2 looks pretty awesome as well!

On a positive note, Smash Bros.! Well you sure could play wii on a high level but the controller is not precise enough so you can trust it. When you play competitive games you dont want your equipment to limit your play, there were many times when i played wii the moves i did wasn't caught and i had to redo them multiple times. I know the whole talk about HC gaming is a bit silly i just thought the person i replied to meant that games today suck because they are not HC.

I think they're really confused on what the fuck they're doing. The controller is too bulky for the core gamers, you cannot play shooters on that wiipad. and it's too bulky for the casuals, too no real innovation to motion controls really...I just don't get it what's the damn point ipad's already out and it does all that lol

Oh okay, fair enough.
I do believe you could use the GameCube controllers with the Wii, or hold the Wii controllers horizontally (in the traditional, non- nunchuk position) if you have trouble with precision. I've solved any accuracy problems with intense games by using those methods.

Looks like Nintendo got most of the big shocks out of the way this e3, touch screen controller and the name. The footage of the third party sizzle reel seemed to be running on something different, since the quality was much less than the Zelda demo. The Zelda demo looked breathtaking, better than anything on PS3, which is nice (but it is still a tech demo, who knows what actual games will look like).
Next e3 Nintendo will probably pull out all the stops and announce all their games then for the launch window.

My main concern for the Wii U is how comfortable that controller will be to use. The features are nice, but it looks rather bulky and awkward. Since Nintendo is really emphasizing the controller, it better feel completely natural to use.

For a console to have the ability to be for hardcore competitive gamers, its controller system needs to be as precise as possible. The wii controller system is cool, but you can't do things as quickly and precisely as you can with a standard analog controller. It has fun games, but not competitive games.

Cheers Sceptor, very appreciated!

Oh snap, I didn't know Neverwinter was being showcased.
... Wait, doesn't PW own Cryptic now though? SO CONFUSED.

I don't actually think that the controller will be that awkward. For reference, and iPad is an 11 inch screen, and holding it with two hands is actually very comfortable.

yeah, the only doubts I have are because you need to hold it near the top and the weight that that will bring with it, but they've probably thought it through

i want to know the specs, lets face it, if its just equal to the ps3 or xbox 360 they are going to get raped by xbox 720 and ps4 which wont be to many years, and then the hardcore will be abandoned again.
and the price will be pretty high.

quoting to keep on top.
thanks

I'm pretty sure I recall hearing it was tri-core CPU with clockspeeds of 3.8 GHz. To compare, the 360 has a tricore 3.2 GHz setup.
Also, Microsoft has said they want to continue the 360 until 2015, so I think there is a window for Nintendo to steal us all back.

and the price will be pretty high. The xbox 720 and ps4 will get raped by PC's, and that doesn't stop them from coming out with their systems. The PC also get's every single game that the xbox and ps get. Your theory is flawed. Nintendo upgraded the hardware, because there currently is no reason not to. Widescreen hq televisions are common now (compared to hq and bluescreen years ago). Graphics don't make a game hardcore. In fact no one has given the qualities of a hardcore game.

i dont know if this is true anymore, but i do know that a year or two ago the wii had outsold the ps3 and xbox360 combined. i dont think we have to worry about nintendo. they know how to make their consoles and get things done pretty well
of course im a little biased as a hardcore nintendo fanboy <3

Honestly, i thought that nintendo was going back into the hardcore gaming scene. But I guess I was wrong because the wii u look terrible to me. -__-
