gj nintendo! you totally swayed me into buying your console to play a few(under10) "hardcore" games for twice the price (new console price vs old console price + jacked up control price) with a bunch of new features that I would never even use...

Whatever answers they could've given were unlikely to be favorable, so no point saying it early. It was a good presentation in that they controlled the agenda relatively well and avoided most of what they wanted to leave unsaid, but predictable and disappointing because of it.
As for excitement...I guess the PSP Vita has me most interested.

"So here they are: the console itself will run in full HD, via HDMI, but the touchscreen isn't HD. The console has internal Flash memory which can be augmented with "SD Card or USB solutions". It will play optical disks and downloadable content, and will be backwards-compatible with Wii software. And it will launch some time between 1 April and 31 December 2012."
From the Guardian's pre-conference hands-on.

You'd think you'd show a picture of the console you are demonstrating...

There was an image on one of the slides. Who cares at this point what the physical console looks like?

It was visible during the presentation, but the didn't went in your face with it because it's relatively minor since the actual innovation is in the controller.

From the Guardian's pre-conference hands-on. What does full HD mean, the upscaled 720p that we have today? :p

I'm wondering if I should watch the M$ one now. I heard it's particularly bad, and I do need a good laugh.
How bad was it? Are we talking RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAAAAAAAACER bad or Skittles bad?

How bad was it? Are we talking RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAAAAAAAACER bad or Skittles bad? It looked like a very bad version of a Wii conference.

Who cares at this point what the physical console looks like? And I'm pretty sure they answered that question("What resolution is the controllers screen?") as well. Wasn't really paying attention because they used inches and I don't care about the controller anyway. So I can't answer it myself. Just look it up somewhere or rewatch it.

What inches the screen is means nothing, res wise.

Why is the gaming industry bad? Nintendo Wii wasn't for the hardcore gamer, this on the other hand have HD and a innovative controller that could work for the HC gamer (we dont know yet). I dont se anything bad in innovation. It has potential for some fun and unique gameplay. People get bored after a while and want something new. This is something new and i want it.
haven't you learn how to behave on TL forums after all bans?

Oh the irony. lmao.
"Game console makes games I don't like = game console isn't for hardcore gamers."
I know plenty of people who played their Wii devoutly. Just because it lacked the graphics of PS3 and the 360 doesn't mean that Nintendo didn't intend for it to be for hardcore gamers. They made it for everyone, including the hardcore gamer.
On a positive note, Smash Bros.!

Technically it should mean 1080p, but I don't think that's the case...

It is 1080p, Reggie confirmed it after the press conference on G4.
