So... I got stuck in Vacation mode for some reason?
Is there anyway to get out of it so I can continue to make cash?

yes you need to validate your acct, When you registered, you had to use an email. you should have an email from them asking you to validate your acct, once you do that you will be out of vacation mode

Two days ago, I felt like picking up ogame again and made an account on the new German uni. But after seeing this thread, I switched to Jupiter. I couldn't miss out on the teamliquid alliance

lol - I used to play this game in the French servers (competition is damn rude, 2nd only to the German oGame). First account I had was top150 as a pure farmer w/ barely any defense and the only fleet being transporters and the farmer's 101. And that was back in pre-0.76 version =D Universe 49.
2nd one was top40 in the beginning of the universe, had to stop due to lots of stressful events happening. New universe layout and stuff helped me through it since I was taking colonies at the same pace as the top10 - despite being a mere farmer w/ a farmer's fleet (inactives ftw :3). Electra universe.
Anyway, for those who need some help, I can give a few tips but it's gonna be a bit inaccurate due to the fact that it's been 2 years since I last played the game (so the very early game is very blurry). Not sure if I'd go back to playing that game past very few days - or maybe even the account confirmation stage as I'm going to sleep. I'd redo an account tomorrow, probably. That and SC2 & BW are time-consuming :p
Ingame: TheDeli. Not sure if I'll stay more than 1 day or 2 so I just created my own alliance: the Zerg! Oh ya, and if I stay, imma join you guys :3

Yeah, the .orgs aren't quite as populated as some of the others from what I heard, but that's both good and bad, depending on how you look at things.

Too confusing to start. Will see how this turns out after I understand...

Actually, I figured that out and realized it was kinda what I was looking for. Something that I don't need to concentrate as much on. Hopefully it doens't get stale too quickly.
This game seems very intense after reading about fleet saving, and getting taken over... what are the chances? I'm not a hardcore player, and I Don't expect to be, so should I be worried?

Famous quote "no fleet save no fleet"
Can be a harsh reality. But Its about not being profitable. As well as time management. If your not around, you should try to have your fleet on a "fleet save mission" (usually colonize mission from a moon, or a deployment if you don't have a moon to another planet) If your unable to be online, and your lazy at fleet saving, Then having more defense on your planet can help to protect your fleet. There are several guides on the ogame forums if you are still unsure about fleet saving. Contact me in game (or on tl) and i can help to explain more if you need it.
Feel free to ask questions, nothing is stupid, and its best to have it answered than to wonder.

Okay, lol. Quick question then. How do you automatically log in when you go to the main page?
EDIT: Why is autologin bannable? Do you only get resources whilst you're logged in? Simply didn't want the hassle of having to select the planet, then retype the name and password each time I closed the Ogame window.

you don't, can have firefox save your info though so you can just click login if thats what you mean
|
As a warning, any kind of auto login would be bannable.

I suggest limiting circular messages a bit, as we're able to converse in here.
It does nothing but spam up everyone else's message box. And I know that I and potential others can get annoyed that the circular we clicked wasn't an important message, but only a response to an Alliance leader's announcement.
I really do want to keep in pace with everything the alliance leaders ask, but it's really taking too much time browsing through these useless messages.

Do I gain resources when I'm offline? If I don't, is it bannable to just leave my account online while I, say, sleep?
My only complaint so far is the time, and the lag in some links.
