I really love ogame, but it's way too addictive. I was in top 20 of Uni 7 for 2 years, the time I spent trying to improve some fucking numbers in some fucking tables is mindboggling.

Yes and no. While you can play it with only a few minutes per day, since mouseclicks dont take too long, you will by no means be able to compete with the top. To do so you would need a few more minutes per day, still not more than one hour, but the crux is that you have to spread these minutes through the whole day because timing matters.
If you are even remotely a competitive player you will soon be finding yourself setting alarms for 4am 6am etc just to raid some other player or upgrade a building or smth.

I disagree, you can play this game by a few days a week for a about an hour those days.
And it also depends on your play style, being more passive person would allow the top to be fine.
If you want rapid growth and to be in combat a lot, more time can lead to more results.

I have to say though, the thrill of the hunt is great in this game. And i enjoy it. Hits like this is why i play.

I'd be interested in joining a TL alliance in Leo, as well. I've been playing OGame for about 7 years on and off. Currently rk 8 in Barym, top 100 (fluctuates wildly because the uni is new) in Leo. So I'm not completely incompetent. I think. Hit me up in game if someone organizes something or just to be friendly. IGN is the same as TL name. Cheers!
