By the way, if you dislike Portal 1... sigh. I honestly do not understand you. That game was the epitome of genius... the cynical offhand humor, the genius but simple plot, the incredible flexibility with a simple concept... disliking a game like this like disliking awesomeness.

I'm a sucker for happy endings so I was sad when she deleted caroline ![]() Fucking amazing game. Well worth it, and I haven't even touched co-op yet.

That one. That was fucking confusing for a long time. That level took me 30 minutes. I didn't realize the bots get knocked over by goo >.>. - I plan on doing a walkthrough on Youtube for the levels in the next few days, i'll post again when some stuff is up!

I thought the humor was great too, but the story a bit predictable. I'd rate the entertainment value of the game 7/10, with the main complaints being how short and easy it was. Are you serious? You do know that the steam page's Played stat doesn't actually work? If you did do it in 4 hours go check the time for the starter and last achievement, I don't see how you could do it beneath 6-7 hours even if you knew all the solutions.

I loved the first game, but I just can't bring myself to clunk $60 on a game with no replayability beyond the 15 or so hours between single and co-op. They MUST bring us some free DLC, based on that TF2 equipment thingy. There must be a way to show off hat to other people in game. :p

Portal is perfect. Portal 2 is not. It's something better than that. Really? Maybe it's the fact that reviewing video games is a shitty job so they only get mediocre people doing it. You know they're all going to give the game a super high score in advance because of the hype, it's like they're all lining up to suck Valve's d***. Maybe it's because they have to play so many shitty games in their line of work that they appreciate the good ones that much more, but here's one review quote: Really? Maybe it's the fact that reviewing video games is a shitty job so they only get mediocre people doing it. I was disappointed too ![]() Finally someone logical... Such a hype game that it is almost disgusting... There is a general statement that usually a sequel, expansion, or addition to a series is never better or even close to that of the original, which proves true again here. Its an OK game, not worth the money it costs, and defiantly a forced title. My opinion on the new generation of games is focused on better graphics at the cost of gameplay.

I was disappointed too ![]() I don't think you can honestly say you found Portal 1 puzzles more challenging than Portal 2. I'm not saying Portal 2 was extremely difficult but at the same time saying Portal 1 was harder is just flat out untrue. IMO, Portal 2 was a LOT better than Portal 1, which I already loved. It just felt so much more refined than the original, from the story to the characters to the levels. It was brilliant. And I haven't even played co-op yet.

My opinion on the new generation of games is focused on better graphics at the cost of gameplay. and that's why this thread has already 6 pages of posts that praise they game and it got several 90+ ratings, right. maybe you don't like it but don't generalize like that when its pretty obvious that the majority of all buyers is very satisfied with the game

The one thing that bothered me tremendously is that you can't play "custom" levels as CO-OP thus far. My buddy and I immediately loved it and then realized when we finished CO-OP that unless they allowed for "custom" levels we'd probably never play Portal 2 again. With the amount of love a lot of people have for this game I could see some amazing levels be created for CO-OP but, only if Valve allows it at this point. If you haven't bought it, wait for the sale.

+ Show Spoiler + The entire thing felt like a rehash of portal's story. That is to say it is you trying to escape from and ultimately destroy an omniscient AI hellbent on destroying you. In fact it was the exact same thing as Portal's story, just with a few different faces. Originally from the Game Informer article it was stated that there would be multiple cores in the ruins of apeture science, not just Wheatley. It stated that there would be gels (which turned out to be true if hardly used). It stated there would be vents to factor in to puzzles, which turned out to be used once, and was so buggy I had to restart that level 3 times before the vent would properly take and spray the white gel. Ultimately it felt like Portal 1-II, not a full blown sequel. But if you do look past the glaring similarities in the stories between the first and second installment Portal 2 truly is a entertaining experience. EDIT: Stupid spoiler tags not working...
