Damn I was hoping this was like Traditional Iron Man in D1, You buy what you can in town, and can't ever go back to town again until you 1.) Beat the game, or 2.) die.
Last one standing wins.
That was fun the furthest I have ever seen someone get on this is down to hell first level. (Last person alive has to keep going till they die.)

Bumping before I make a decision. I think we have enough interest to do this but I want to make sure.
1,648 views and only 30 votes for "Interested" tells me either a LOT of people are interested in this and didn't vote, or a lot of people thought they might be interested and decided after reading the thread they weren't.
So, can't hurt to get a few more votes just in case.

Oh man Iron Man's are definitely my favorite part of diablo 2 ever, i'm so down to compete, im assuming we are ruling out the major broken/OP builds?

Banned skills (imba ~ gay, lame etc..):
Prayer aura
Multiple recasting of bone armour (you can have it, but only once)
Poisen javelin (they just run around everywhere and its stupid)
Assasins Psychic hammer (amazing damage at level 9 and knockback)
also i've seen holy fire and power strike banned on many occasions

Assassins will overrrun the competition.
Thy got the best skills before level 20 (probably the max level you can get is about 16-18. When heavily invested into tiger strike and burst of speed it seems difficult to lose to any other melee char.

Go summoner Druid. Spam Ravens, run around in circles. It's basically the same as Poison Javelin Amazon.
This is for level 9 Ironman btw.

I would be interested in this.
I held one end of last ladder, but we all made new lvl1 chars (honor system), and we all partied up and lvl'ed together, drops are whoever grabs it, and grab all the gold that drops
This way we are lvl 9 by the time we rescue cain, or at most get the malus from charsi. we do den, cain, charsi, and stay in a group so we all hit 9 at once
from what i recall, exp for being single in a 8 player game is same as 1 solo person, but the monsters are much harder (8x hp or so)
also i banned spamming bone armor and cyclone armor, once and thats it
beyond that, no potions of any kind (including throwing), or running back to town when the duel begins

Also; to the people saying assassins > all.
It's a huge battle, assassins are glass and their spells cost so much mana it is unbelievable. In Iron Man matches assassins die out early so one ever plays them.
