Am I the only one feeling like this is turning more and more into Tribes Fortress 2? It just...doesn't feel right anymore.
what makes it feel like TF? IMO the game couldn't be any more different. Completely different weapon styles, gameplay, pacing, look. Only similarity is classes, and Tribes classes are much more generic and varied than TF2's specialist classes.

As in, that's all it's really based on anymore -- class setups. It used to be primarily Soldier/Pathfinder/some Juggs/some Ranger. Offense and Defense were blended together, as you would have to have huge crossmap chases the entire game consistently. Defense was about map awareness, quick body blocks, shots to knock off momentum, and chasing. Offense was getting good routes, out maneuvering enemies, so on and so forth. Everyone was on equal footing and it was awesome. Now the game is…different. First of all, with double XP and all that – new players are at a significant disadvantage compared to older players. Not by skill, but by pure XP differential. The perk trees give ridiculous advantages to people with full perk trees compared to those who don’t – so much that those with even better skill would lose to one of lesser skill simply because they played longer and bought XP bonus. This forces new players into a far more defensive style, and base campy style.
Furthermore, defense and offense is all class based instead of skill based. Force Field Walls blocking the flag, claymores, Engie turrets, and so forth. Offense is Infiltrators sneaking into bases and fucking things up, Juggs going in and camping their generator ( but granted this always happened ), Jammers getting positioned right, so on and so forth.
I want to clarify something – nothing of what I’m saying is BAD. Especially the latter paragraph. What this game is turning into is all fine and good. However, it isn’t what it was when the beta first came out and what made it so popular; in my honest opinion. It’s no longer about quick reflexes, map awareness, and being everywhere at once and maneuvering. It’s now about getting good team compositions, getting good pre-emptive position, getting great defense, and coordinating attacks. Yes, there are times where GOTTA GO FAST and shit like that takes over and you can speed in and speed out super fast and all that – but, as someone who plays everyday, I see it more and more turn into Team Fortress 2: Gotta Go Fast Edition
Yes, it's different graphics and style, different weapons, and different pacing -- that doesn't make my analogy any less legitimate. I love this game, and I still find it fun in a new way -- but it's not the fun that I had initially. It's a new game. For better or worse, but it's not the same as it was before. So *shrug*

people are unlocking new classes, they play them so the team compositions are getting more varied now. beta pub servers dont care about positioning and map awareness. there's so many new people starting the game everyday so half the people on a pub server, or more, wont really understand what their role is, or what to do at all. they just want to camp the flag and get some kills every round

I don't know about you, but when I started 2 months ago and people were "just starting", no one camped the base for kills.
The way that XP trees influence strength and an increasing variety of classes has changed the very core of the game compared to what it was initially. It's not necessarily bad, it's just different.

people that have been playing for 2-3 months, even longer are the ones who have really known about tribes, and how to play. so people who have played T:A a while aren't necessarily going to camp. it's all the new people to the game that are camping

I've hardly seen camping at all. I have probably only ever seen one person really try to camp. Dude just kept trying to camp in the same area despite me rolling him every time.

I dont' mean camp as in sit in a corner with a shotgun all game. I mean as in, sticking to the base only and refusing to leave the general area of turret and teammate cover.

Sometimes llama grabbing can be valid. Usually in emergencies but also if there is no D in sight. I usually still look left and right before llamaing in those situations to make sure no one is on a route. Do you call out to your team with [VSAF] or [VFF] when you are on approach? Those usually alert your team to you coming in on a route.

Well, he probably didn't know you were there as was said above. But how fast were you going? If you have a 'high level' doesn't mean you're good, but if he is, he can probably llama it off the stand and make it home in good time. Remember, if you're a capper and your average speed is below 200. You have a problem / need to get better.

iam really just venting its not like its premade team. it will get better when ranked comes out i hope.
iam not high lvl iam like rank14. no i havnt ever called out vsaf or vff havnt seen it ever in chat. 200 is around what iam getting 230 to 240 is the highest ive gotten on a flag grab i still need practice tho.
its just upsetting when sitting on a flag undefended and they grab the flag only to die couple seconds after they grab it. but thats how pugs go.
it just gets really boring chaseing and defending all the time. because it feels like if i dont the team loses more often then naught. 1 guy does not make the team but 1 good chaser helps alot.

Just bought VIP with an old giftcard I got a few years ago.
Holy shit, I'm getting money so fast.

You're just gonna have to deal with it. Pubs always always llama grab. A lot of comp cappers don't even bother capping in pubs because of all the llama grabbers.

Below level 6 it's mostly against eachother, the level 32 might have joined via a low level friend. Above level 6 there is no matchmaking at all as far was I'm aware.

Is it just me or the technicians SMG is actually has a faster projectile than all the others?

Im really loving the game so far but my biggest issue with it is that you cant see the enemy shadows on the ground. Im having a really rough time predicting where exactly my enemy is and a lot of times when it looks like they're on ground they are actually in the air. I dont know if this is something like a bug on my side, or an issue developers are aware off but it makes the game unnecesarilly harder. I also googled a bit about this problem but I couldnt find any relevant information about it.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem as me? And do you maybe have any intel on if its going to get fixed (if it IS even a problem that should get fixed)? Also, any tips on how to avoid this problem (other than skill) would be appreciated!
