Surfing, are you talking about skiing? You can get speeds of 250-350+ pretty easy in this game, depending on your class. You have to use weapons/hills to propel yourself to faster speeds.

No idea about the mouselag, never experienced that in Tribes:Ascend.

I had a similar issue in beta that was solved by "verifying" the install using the diagnostic tool.

It still happens to me on higher graphics settings though.

Ugh, it's really annoying seeing people complain about Raindance, about how the gen room is hard to attack and how you can only grab side-to-side.

Forget the gen, it's just not as important in Ascend. Just spam mortar/GL/EMP nades on the flag stand for the cappers. You can easily clear all the deployables because the small platform forces all the deployables to be close together. Despite only being able to grab side-to-side, the flag stand is pretty hard to defend.

The real problem isn't the gen per se, the problem is that flag standoffs are going to be more common, and more boring, than with a different gen room design.

Do you mean you play with vsync = ON? Try taking it OFF.

Well with raindance you have to keep in mind that it was designed with T1 in mind. It was significantly easier to cross the map in T1, the base was also incredibly easy to attack with HO.

Gens also died faster in T1/T2, taking a mere 3 mortars I think? If you shot 2 and threw mines+grenades it would also die.

The flag bounces only once anymore, and slides after that. Thought that has caused some weird flag warping when it's on the ground.

But we already have Team Rabbit errr... I meant TDM. The hardest part for me right now is finding someone to pass the Flag with, since I wasn't able to join a team/ play PUGs because I wasn't whitelisted. I also hear reach is banned from EU comp so I don't use it. Didn't they also just increase the throwing power of the flags as well?

Does anyone know if there is a sort of matchmaking system in Quick play ctf? Are teams being assembled based on skill/lvl or any other criteria or is it just random? Also I would love it if they would show level of my opponent when im killed, rather than just badge and percenage of class he unlocked.

Reason why I ask is because before I won most on my duels while running Soldier and making top of scorescreen mostly, but these days Ive been having my ass handed to me by basically every other class

It's level based I believe. I joined on a friend today who just got the game and I just mowed people down left and right cuz they were like lvl 1-5 or something.

Now, where's the Eagle Pistol giveaway when I need it!

Yeah, once you hit level six there's no longer any matchmaking of any sort.

I accidentally joined a low-level game the other day. I felt like a dick for using my maxed out doombringer to kill enemy cappers. I apologized, bought a tank, and drove around shooting things.
I like things.

Been watching AnarchyAo stream. He makes infiltrator look so fun. So I went into TDM and played infiltrator. I did pretty ok and notice my tracking got better with the rhino. Probably thanks to watching how he track with it.
