I play brute and generator rooms are my playground. Bella Omega is now my least favorite map because of this change. it's the least favorite map for 50 % of the people who participated in the ctf maps poll, you're not alone, to be quiet frank I don't think anyone understand what they are trying to do
The day before, I got a 12 kill streak in one of those corridors. I'm quite sad it's gone

Go like them on Facebook if you haven't, http://www.facebook.com/tribesascend , they are giving away free gold (250). Just redeemed my code. It's not much, but it's better than nothing!

Yeah, of course. I meant in terms of XP Boost.
edit: I don't know what to buy though. I like playing soldier as defense, but I also like pathfinder, and I want to try doombringer out.

Buy something that costs 42000 xp.

I use something in between; 10 in-game and roughly 1000 dpi. Discovering the second zoom has made me land muuuuuuuch more hits now though, lol. Fuck my life.

I agree. Low sens is a must if you want to snipe in this game. We are talking about hitting people who are kilometers away. If you have high sens, your smallest possible movement of your mouse will still move the aim a couple of meters at that range. Get a large mousepad (steelseries Qck+ or similar) and learn to make use of it with your sens set really low. Making minor adjustments to aim at long range wont be a problem at all.

Could you go into a little bit more detail?
I never bothered to snipe on tribes because I like going fast, but when I do try I cant hit anything to save my life despite being really handy with a spinfuser. I have heard people say "aim behind the target" and "have minimal sensitivity" but I dont see why? Surely you just have to put your crosshairs over the target and press fire - its hitscan right?

Brute is dead since they made it nearly impossible for them to kill gens ;_;
I think the idea is to reduce the distance between the flag and the gen - for many months bella gen room was a whole different world to the flag podium - people (in most pubs) would just play gen room wars while light classes played flag wars up top, with the two worlds never colliding.
I think this change is awful myself, the last thing bella needs is for it to be so open to infs and MIRVs

I've found Spinfusors (at least on ground targets) much easier to aim because they have a large explosive hitbox, and even mid-air is slightly easier (if you can get good at leading) because as a unit you tend to be much closer (so the enemy is bigger = bigger hitbox). On the other hand I find that if anyone so much as looks at me in short-mid range I'm doomed as Sent, because BXT does 10 damage unscoped and the Nova Blaster does good damage (350) but is really hard to aim (the bounce also makes it hard to tell where your shots are landing, making it even more difficult to "adjust"), so I tend to be further enough away that I'm trying to hit some really small people moving the half the screen per second.
Then when you consider that at that distance if someone hits boost or runs into a wall or boosts the other way (to slow down a bit), that nudges them several crucial pixels and you miss completely... you need the ability to nudge YOUR shot just a few pixels as well (and have good timing so they don't juke your aim). A lot of times before I crushed my sensitivity I'd over-adjust, lol.

Low sens is an absolute must in any tracking based FPS, you just gotta trust on this

just played a round of 2v2 arena when I made 7 airmails with the bolt launcher. Apparently that's not good enough down under, the top guy on the other team got 12...
Everyone was playing pathfinder, so these weren't easy shots either...
I don't know whether to be pleased or depressed

If I turn my sens down for sniping, then what about shriking? I have fairly high sens already, and I have to run a marathon with my mouse to turn the shrike around.
|
don't do both at the same time? Generally sentinels don't shrike in comp play unless I'm somewhat mistaken. Alternatively you can try using a mouse with on the fly DPI switching, most of the logitech and razer gaming mice have that feature.

Minimal sensetivity has been explained enoguh.
For where to aim, it is quite hard, but I tried to learn from what shots I miss/hit. Far away targets (like seconds zoom and still pretty small): So far it seems like the hitbox is somewhat behind/under the actual target, so aiming at the feet/lower body of really far away people seems to me to be the most effective way. I also get headshots often, even though I aim too low on the model, further undermining this theory.
For closer targets, the hitbox seems to be fairly the same as you would expect from seeing the model.
But I would just recommend you to play a few hours of Team Deathmatch and just practise hitting targets. You will eventually get a feel for when to shoot and where to aim.
I bought the Phase Rifle shortly after I started as Sentinel, so maybe my statements are false for BXT (BTX?).
In general I don't think that aiming behind the target is a good approach, I think the Sniper weapons have a minimal delay between your click and the actual impact, maybe that is just the response time or something, but I feel like (and also read) that there is a split second of delay.
Also, how cool is the new CTF map? I can place my claymores, they sink into the ground and are almost impossible to destroy with spinfusor shots... Hope this will get fixed soon.

Snipers are probably not shrikers in competitive play, no. But I suck ass and I like doing a little bit of everything, sooo....
Did anyone buy Light Assault Rifle for pathfinder? Was it worth it? Considering spending my gold on it but... it's a lot of gold for only one weapon.
