Also question: if you get the +50% melee dmg perk, can infiltrators oneshot heavy classes from behind?
He means total score, not saved up credits.
And no, heavies will survive with some health, but not a lot. edit: apparently with more health than I thought

This fucking game is driving me crazy. It's riddled with install/load errors.

The game's alot of fun, now I just hope it doesn't goes the way of Quake live which wasn't a success at all.

You only defend defend defend while pooping mines and FFs on and around the flag stand, so yeah..
Maybe if the heavy bolt was the alternative to the missile launcher

I haven't been able to play the game yet. Crash upon crash upon crash. Constant reinstalls, changing settings, checking if all the necessary progs are installed. No one really seems to have an answer on the forums either.

Maybe you're simply not playing a class that fits your playstyle.
I could say the Sentinel is a crappy class, but that would be because I simply can't snipe. I wish I was good, I'm not.
I play Brute :D

I don't know about that because I really like defending. I'd play Doombringer if it wasn't for the fact that mines(which are kinda essential to defending, especially compared to a fuckin frag grenade..) cost 75k experience(??? that's like 1 month of grinding), and of course the missile launcher which is colossally boring and useless. I'll just stick to my technician for the moment, I find him very useful for being around generators and stuff.
Also, fuck fractal grenades.

Hmm that sounds really bad, my problems went away after 2/3 redownloads and completely clean installs (so also clearing out the register) Install problems are the worst

Stayin' Alive! Stayin' Alive!
(I know all about Generator room triple kill parties)
In put 10$ in this game, with it I unlocked the Brute Shield pack and the Pathfinder crossbow with gold. And with every match I get a healthy portion of XP.
I figure I've played enough T:A to warrant spending 10$. I'm quite happy with the results.

That ludicrous, I didn't know that was the cost. I spent ages grinding the 18K to unlock the raider, nevermind 75K to use an essential ability of a defensive class.
This game is not free to play.
World of Warcraft - now free to play! (but you can only play a male orc warrior in tanking spec with no shield)

Why do people think free-to-play means non-profit? If you don't want to grind, then drop 10 bucks and speed things up. I did so the first weekend i started playing and it let me deck out my pathfinder and soldier classes fully. Now i'm saving up to get perks with exp and it's not like the grind really worsens your enjoyment.
Anyhow, i'm having fun with this game, does anyone know of any good streamers? I've watched the showmatch that was on a couple days ago but i'd rather see the game in first-person so i can learn some general stuff.

Well what do you expect!? You want a company to give you a commercial grade videogame for free? These people are not doing voluntary work, they need to pay their mortgage and buy food just like you an me.
You CAN play the game without paying them, and you'll have access to a good portion of it without really needing to grind but if you DO like the game, you can contribute a small amount of cash to their cause.
I payed 10$, that's the price of two beers at a bar in my city. Or the price of 3 and 1/2 bus tickets. Or the price of a meal at most fast food restaurants.
In other words, it's Not the end of the world. I'm glad I could contribute to their cause because they are doing a hell of a job and I got much more than 10$ worth of enjoyment out of T:A.

Also, fuck fractal grenades. It's all about the CG with doombringer. Everything just dies when you're good with it.

I totally get what you're saying and I agree. I wouldn't feel aggrieved paying £20+ for a decent multiplayer only game like this.
I just feel like it's marketed in a really horrible way - the game isn't free to play. 10% of the game is free to play. AKA, it's a demo. A free demo. Oh nice one, really revolutionary, not like that hasn't been done for 20 years.
But yeah, don't take that as me saying the game isn't worth anything, it's a great game!

Not true at all. You can play the game perfectly normally without paying anything. Sure, it takes longer to unlock things, but it's not like everything costs 75k.

Boost also stacks with VIP so I can recommend to buy a boost and grind some exp. I bought something a little while ago and my account shows VIP status, but are you sure I get a 50% increase because I still can only get a max of like 1500 xp a game with and an average of like 400-800 xp. Also, after every game where it shows the boosted/unboosted thing it doesn't show any boost. 1500 XP would have been 1k without the boost, that is a almost maxed out CTF game. If you do incredibly well (like 200k or more credits) and win in overtime you should be noticably over 1500 more like 1800-2000, WITH the VIP Boost. Look for an extreme like that. Also, 1500 is almost impossible to get without boost or First win of the day. Overall I am pretty sure you have VIP status. What game-mode do you play usually? 200k or more credits o.O. Is that even possible in a game that lasts a maximum of 35min? The most I've seen in a game is 85k.
200k is propably impossible, adjusted the number. No idea why I chose 200k :D
