Great choices, although IWD EE is probably a waste of money compared to the old version. May i ask why? I played icewind dale ~10 years ago but i don't remember much honestly. It's not like there are any particular problems with it imho. It's just that, like with BG EE, there aren't enough features to warrant the price. But that's just my opinion.

anyone interested in the rts genre should pick up age of empires 3 and give that game a spin. at that price, it's an absolute steal

Loved the game just hated the whole card/home city system. It added an inneccesary level of complexity imho. still a good game though.
AoE 2 just got a new expansion African Empires
Age of Mythology is also a great game, and they announced a new expansion with completly new civilizations

the home-city system adds a HUGE amount of depth to the game (in terms of what kind of strategies you can pull off), however i'll just leave that debate for elsewhere :p
nice that you linked it, you should come back :D

The original has certain idiosyncrasies that it's designed/balanced around (e.g. no real dual-wielding, limited spell selection) with it's own implementation of the 2E ruleset. Beamdog just used their BG:EE engine to do IWD:EE and implemented a lot of things that were in BG/BG2 but not in IWD, but that actually massively throws off the balance/pacing of the game because there were a lot of features in those games that IWD's encounters weren't designed for.
Most of the actual improvements are covered by mods that have existed for years, and taking all of that into account with the EE's higher price tag, it's not really worth it.

If you buy Fallout 4 for Xbox One I know the game we sell in my store comes with a free Fallout 3 download code for Xbox 360. And it's $10 on sale atm too. What an earlier poster also said, Fallout 3 is very similar to 4, just worse graphics and different storyline obviously.

Interesting, I didn't know that.

Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are timeless classic RPG, absolutely must-play. F3 and especially F4 are barely an action 'rpg', different feeling, dumbed down mechanics, cutting away core RPG elements and overall bitchsoft "skyrim with guns gameplay and feel. Fallout Tactics is quite nice tactical game, not the most deep, but it's still lot of fun if you can go through some issues with the graphic engine.

Can someone explain to me why GOG displays all of its prices in british pounds to me?(Or more importantly, how to make it stop doing that) I have the currency set to EUR on my account, and it didn't do that before. I can't check if this is only the case on my laptop, but it is a bit annoying and i would like to get rid of this.

does the humble bundle containing ff14 mean i would pay ~5$ to have 30 days to test the game? is it worth it, i love mmo (both aion style and tera style), i remember playing ff14 on its first version's beta and didnt like it at all, but i heard the game changed very much for the better now

"New users will receive 30 days of free game time." is what it says right there on the page.
Since i dont have any interest whatsoever in playing an MMO, what about the rest of the games? I am kind of bummed that there is only episode 1 of Life is Strange in the Bundle.
Can someone say something about Front Mission Evolved, Gyromancer, Murdered or the last Remnant?

The Last Remnant is impossible to play with keyboard and mouse, you need a controller. I didn't get far enough into the game to learn much else.
Front Mission Evolved is cool in that it lets you kit out mechs, but the combat is kinda boring IMO, again didn't play very much of it.

(GOG has regional prices, albeit not for all games)
And anyway, you should try to clear your browser cache and delete all cookies related to GOG. In case you don't know how to do it, you can achieve similar effect by accessing the website from a different browser.

What? Why? I played it pretty far until I just couldn't beat some Encounter (it was pretty much a breeze till there), probably i missed some importnat mechanic but I had absolutely no issue with the Keyboard controlls.

People tend to blow the "you need a controller" way out of prorpotion. Someone like me would probably have a better shot at most games with keyboard and mouse because I play like a retard with controller while keyboard and mouse is very intuitive to me....probably because I played over 15 k hours with that set up and almost none with a controller. I had no issues at all with any game where people said it was impossible or a pain in the ass to play with keyboard.
|
Well, for some games the Keyboard/Mous controls are just not good (Dark Souls), you can manage it but its clearly inferiour.
But Last Remnant is a JRPG... I honestly have absolutely no clue why you would need or even want controller.
Btw: Devil may cry (the newest one) has awesome Keyboard/Mous-Controlls.
|
I don't see why "you need a controller" seems to be such a big issue for some people either. A controller is 30 bucks. Buy it. It's worth it. You already use a 1000+$ machine to play games on. Some very good games control a lot better with a controller for most people. Having the choice is always better, which is what PC gaming is about. I don't see why a lot of people consciously decide to never ever ever think about playing something with a controller, probably because they fear that that would turn them into filthy console casual peasants or something.
