On another note I noticed the Humble Bundle today, not sure if it is new, and got Murdered: Soul Suspect, Tomb Raider 1-3, Life is Strange episode 1, and The Last Remnant all for $1, not bad lol.

I hated Remember Me from the same studio, but thought they would be much better off doing a Adventure-Story type game instead of some mangled Action thingy, so LiS seems much more suited. Other concern I had was that the writing in Remember Me was bad (narrative, prose and characterization), and some of it was French to English translation, but a lot of it wasn't. So it's a game that I was interested in, but I just want some reassurances that I'm not going to get the same half-assed gameplay and poorly written narrative that Remember Me had.

I have not yet finished LiS, but I think it's good. There's a lot of griping about the last episode though, along the same vein of ME3s "Your choices don't actually matter", but I haven't gotten that far to verify anything. The story is intriguing and most of the characters are well-written. There are a great deal of characters who are annoying, pretentious hipster-types, and generally unlikable people, even some of the protagonists, but there are a few who I found quite charming, and they stand out a lot more amongst the cesspool of teenage angst that is LiS' setting. Overall, if you can get past the aforementioned teen angst, the story is quite interesting and the game is mechanically unique. I can't think of any other game where save-scumming is actually an intended mechanic. The 'puzzles' aren't hard, but for the most part the sequences of events can be fun to execute and its's interesting to see how the time-travel powers get used. There's a demo now, apparently, so you can see how they do things. The story doesn't really pick up 'till later, though, first episode is kind of boring since it's just Max learning how to use her powers. Episode 4 made me an emotional wreck. That's probably just me, though; certain things just get to me. Oh, and I really hope you don't mind the word "Hella."

I was looking into this game since I saw a friend stream it once. How long did it take to finish? If it's not too long I'll probably give it a go when I'm done Bastion.

It's hard but rewarding, and the aesthetic is perfect. People seem to recommend playing with a controller but I managed fine with keyboard/mouse.

I thought it was pretty good. Not a total masterpiece but worth playing, I'd rate it 8/10. Certain parts of the plot seemed to be red herrings that the developer abandoned, but overall I enjoyed it. I think the reviews on Steam are a little overly positive. I enjoyed the atmosphere the game created for sure. I'd say watch someone play a bit of episode 1, and then see if you like the dialogue. Some people really hate the game and can't stand it, so yeah, best to see a bit for yourself without spoiling too much.
