Terrible and amazing in equal measure apparently. The game makes you think you can ignore combat skills. Don't be fooled. You need to level up at least 1 weapon because of mandatory boss fights ala Deus Ex:HR. Thanks for the advice, you might have just saved me some hours XD

It's old school. If you enjoyed some older cRPG classics such as first two (REAL) Fallouts, then there's no reason why you wouldn't love Wasteland 2. First game in ages that I had the same unique feeling when playing as I were teen again.

Well, I really tried to enjoy it, but the Gameplay is so fucking bad. I could just not do it. The RPG-Mechanics are kind of good, but everything other than that is horrible.

FF13 is on sale. Yes? No?
Does it really require a 60GB download? That might be a deal breaker for me.
|
F13 ? NO, FF7, 4 or 3 are infinite times better even if 3 and 4 are ports of the DS versions
Alpha Protocol is great, the combat is hit or miss but the conversation ots damn great, you choose an emotion instead of a true response whuch is the way things should be.
Mmm tempted by Wasteland 2 as im a super fan of old Fallout games

I've played 3, 4 and 7 already.

Some people love 13, some don't, but everyone agrees that the PC port is pretty shitty. I think there might be some fix made by the community though, if you're willing to do all that.

I fucking hated this one character called Snow from the first scene he was in till the last one, though it seems there are many different views on which character is actually the worst one. The RPG and battle elements have a 'simple, yet can have a lot of depth' feel to them so they are a definite plus.
If you buy the game I highly recommend Japanese voices with English subs, its a whole different experience. All in all its more than worth the price if you are into JRPG's. Oh and I think it needs 60GB.

And damn, Divinity:OS. I am really positively surprised by this. Playing the coop mode is alot of fun and I see some replayability there with different approaches to the story and/or different characters. Can recommend picking this up now or when it gets a bit cheaper. I like that style of graphics so Im fine with that.
Unfortunately fell asleep and forgot about the sale :D Still decent discount now tho.

I got 60GB of storage. I don't have 60 GB of download bandwidth.
Is it a 60GB download?

It took 3 Xbox360 discs, and maxed out a dual-layer PS3 disc.

There could be an encore sale for it at some point during the sale so might be worth holding out for that. Though its not really that expensive anyway

The gameplay mechanics are heavily derivative of the game it's tech is based on (in KotOR2's case, it was the first game, in Fallout's case, it was Fallout 3, and in this case, it's Mass Effect). The encounter design is kind of sloppy, and the game is very buggy (it's gotten better with patches for sure, but on my first playthrough I got crash bugs and save corruptions multiple times).
On the other hand, the writing is better than pretty much any other major studio's, and the RPG elements try a lot of things that other CRPG devs don't try.
It's a flawed game like any other Obsidian game. The game probably won't change your mind about their games, but if you liked their other games, it'll be what you expect.

One of the more enjoyable RPGs I've played in a while, especially once you get used to combat. Witcher 2 got everything right: difficult but not impossible combat (weak creatures can kill quite easily in numbers), meaningful skill trees, meaningful crafting and exploration as well. Your decisions influence what happens in the game: you can avoid fighting in some circumstances through dialogue if you so wish.
Really an excellent game. I know I've had this conversation before, in this very thread actually but there's no way to search through the hundreds of pages to find it, but is it worth it even if I've never played the first? Speaking of the first is it just not on steam? I'm on the Witcher 1's steam page thing and there's no option to purchase it
Just in case anyone else ran into the same issue I did, Witcher 1 comes up with Witcher 2 and is $1.75 or something similar. For some reason just searching The Witcher doesn't come up with the game. So if you want to get 1 and 2 for like 4 bucks its there

Alpha Protocol is no where close to KotOR or FNV in Quality, its just terrible.

Yeah I've already dropped Alpha Protocol twice, I'm really trying to like it but it's pretty hard to do so at times.

Final Fantasy 13 takes up quite a bit of storage. Not 60 GB but I think 43-50 for the initial download (can't remember exactly).

I liked Alpha Protocol. Not game of the year level but a an entertaining story, decent gameplay and a pretty good flow. Didn't encounter any bugs as far as I can recall.

Get Hotline Miami if you don't already have it. At the moment 1,27€ (less than couple bucks) on new deals for 12 hours. New HLM coming next year!

Yeah, Final Fantasy 13 is like 50 GB download. If you're on a data cap you should probably just skip the game. There's a whole bunch of jrpgs that won't suck up all your data.
