Can we have a mod note above the thread saying if its flash or daily sale it will NOT get any lower?

Steam sales are not hard to understand.
If it is a daily/flash/community deal, it will not get cheaper. If not, it might, but does not necessarily have to. It has always been like this, and it will keep being like this because it is the only way to not make people very angry.

Super Hexagon for $0.30 is kind of a great deal guys. Get it if you don't have it already.

I was one cent away from another trading card so I went ahead and bought it (and sold the trading card) the game has more or less costed me 7 cents, and those 7 cents I got from selling random stuff on the market so should be interesting lol.

Any recommendations for today's dailies?

First impression i got from today's dailies is pretty "meh". Except FTL, i heard tht game is good but it doesn't click for me though.

I don't like FTL that much to be honest. There simply isn't that much content, and the game quickly gets very repetitive. I get much more entertainment out of free games of similar genres (roque-likes).
Picking up super hexagon because it looks pretty dope.
Fuck this game is addicting already.
This game is going to give me a mental condition I swear to God what even is this.

FTL is great. You get easily ~10 games out of it, at 3-4h a pop when you succeed. I'm glad I played it.
And super hexagon looks like a next gen Super Gravitron from VVVVVV. That thing was insane, I played the hell out of it. Time to get the wallet out and spend those 49 cents!

i like super hexagon way better on my phone than on the computer

FTL is one of my favorite games I've played in the last several years. It may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love it. You will eventually run into the same scenarios, but the outcomes aren't always the same and no two runs will ever go the same way, so the game is generally as much about managing risks and decision making as it is space combat. Also there's going to be a big, completely free update coming soon to it, which you can see more about on their site.
+ that soundtrack is one of the best around.
(I've played over 150 hours of FTL as of writing this)

FTL is a great game! New maps each time gives the game huge replay-value (I would want to play more, but Euro Truck Sim 2 eats away my time) and the soundtrack is amazing
|
I agree, FTL is my 2012 GOTY, definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

im gonna be one of the naysayers, i really didn't like FTL. gameplay itself gets very repetitive, and more often than not your fate seems to be out of your control. other roguelikes (spelunky, BoI) feel a lot more rewarding imo. but at least the soundtrack is nice?

FTL is just very RNG based, at least it was to me. You could play as well as you want but if you just get bad luck it can end your runs. Makes it kinda hard to enjoy it after awhile especially compared to something like Binding of Isaac. Does have a sick soundtrack though...
Got Super Hexagon myself since it was so cheap but haven't tried it out yet. Been playing Risk of Rain. It's pretty fun but I feel like there just isn't that much in it with regards to items, bosses, and level layouts. Pretty much the same layouts which is kinda getting boring. Hopefully they add more to it sometime.
Also, they are releasing an FTL: Advanced Edition early next year but from what I read it isn't adding that much. Guess we will see if it ends up being any better...

This sums up how I feel quite well.

I encourage all of you that enjoy FTL to give other roguelikes a try, then. I know that tons of people like FTL, and that's awesome. But I have been exposed to other roguelikes that maybe spoiled FTL for me; I was already accustomed with the general layout of roguelikes, and while FTL's combat system is unique, it just seemed like a rather limited roguelike in comparison with dungeon crawl stone soup or even dwarf fortress' adventure mode (you think FTL can eat up time? Give dungeon crawl a try). Obviously it is a more polished game all around with nice music, an actual graphics system, etc. but gameplay wise it just seemed lacking in depth. And ditto to the RNG comments. I hate how certain playthroughs just seem completely unwinnable not from skill but merely from roll of the gen().
I mean it's great that you enjoy FTL for its new maps every time but in my opinion there are a lot of games that provide WAY more variation. And it gets kind of stale when you get scenario X for the umpteenth time and already know that choosing option y is always the best, especially considering the number of scenarios (not enough IMO). But tons of people find it incredibly fun and have put days of time into it, while I've only played around 15 hr, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Super hexagon is super fun and I super recommend it. So addicting...

With Risk of Rain the level layouts are the same every time but each stage has the option of two different levels. I think with how important time management is in the game its better that way. As you play more you get more efficient at the levels, its a good speedrunning game if you are into that.
edit: Also Super Hexagon is an evil time sink that should be avoided if you want any spare time.

You can definitely win FTL reliably if you play well and pick a decent ship (like either Kestrel variant).
