I played a bit when it was on a free weekend or something. If you like the idea of the game, which is just working your way through a level shooting fucked up monsters. Then yeah, it's a game worth buying. Personally it's just a bit too linear and bland to me. There's alot of variety between enemies though and you have to dodge certain kinds of attacks + the bosses are pretty good.

Well it's only like $5 this weekend, which is why I'm thinking about it. The first game is usually considered a "classic", so I feel like I should play it. Does anyone know if they changed anything in the remakes (game play mechanics, etc)?

Likes: - It's actually a difficult game. I'm playing on normal and I'm easily dying several times every stage, and dying at least half a dozen times on some hard parts alone. - I like that the game rewards you for speed in the sense that the enemies really start to surround you and get more accurate with their shots if you don't get the hell out of there in time. You really start to feel the tension rising as you know you're running out of time before you get ripped to shreds by machine guns, shotguns, and chopper fire. - Dying actually feels painful. If you make a wrong step and fall off the building, your body goes CRUNCH. If you're about to get hit by a subway train, you hear the *HOOOOONK* with the lights casting a shadow on your body and then *THUD*. lol omg that whole subway level ... I kept going "OH MY GOD NOOOOOOO" *THUD*. lol - I really like the fact that the game is somewhat hard to play, but very very difficult to master. Right now I'm just trying to do a play through, but I'm really looking forward to doing the speedruns.
Dislikes: - Combat is really simplistic ... would be nice if it were a little bit more complex - Most of the puzzles are pretty simple and linear ... you just need to explore every nook and cranny, which is kinda annoying - I can see the game can feel a bit repetitive, but I'm ok with that, playing only about an hour a day
Overall, I really recommend getting this game on sale if you can!
happyft: When was Mirror's Edge on sale? I must have missed it. Is it worth playing for the puzzle aspects?

Anyone got the baconing ? (Or already has it) I heard it's a quite funny game, but what about the gameplay, is it worth it?

Giving away a -25% ticket on any Steam product, first to reply gets it. I'm giving it away because it can only be used until midnight today, so I would lose it.

Only had time to play Mirror's Edge for an hour so far but it seems pretty enjoyable, actually wanted to get it for a long time now and had no excuse to skip it with that price.
Btw it's also the only somewhat recent non-Battlefield game from DICE.

Burnout Paradise on sale. If you're wondering if it's worth it, I'm about to play now. It's only 5 bucks (75% off). You might be wondering when was the last time it was on sale like this and I've been waiting to buy it since two X-mases ago.
That's how long it's been.

Omg burnout paradise was the SHIT. it was my first burnout game. I remember playing that stuff when we just got our ps3. Oh man, the whole left side of the map is basically one giant race parcour and I would just spend hours racing that same damn track with the fastest car just going faster and faster. Oh man so many good memories. Awesome game.
+ Show Spoiler +( was only a couple years ago but HEY CANT A MAN HAVE HIS NOSTALGIA!?!?)

Majesty 2 collection is currently at sale!
Its a game where you house heroes and give them quests as if they were mmo players. They may or may not carry out the quests depending on the reward you give out. During the combat they gain gold, levels, abilities and maybe items. Part of the gold is channeled back to you through taxes or item stores so you can use it to extend the settlement, research items or abilities or give out more quests.
The collection has 4 campaigns and several single-map missions available. These are of hard to ridicilous( especially the single missions) difficulty, but everything is fair and beatable without reloading by being a bit strategic in hero and upgrade choice.
I found this game to be great fun and have personally played over 100 hours, which is a lot of single player strategy.

I've never played any of the Anno games, and this one intrigues me, so what's it like, how does it play, etc? Dungeon defenders is fun.. too bad I have no friends =P

I remember playing the first burnout on the xbox... and then my save got corrupted when I was at like 97% completed. I was kind of sad at that point.

I've been a fan of Anno games for a long time... but, having tried the 2070, I never bought it. Not sure why, but I enjoy Anno 1404 a lot more. Maybe it's the futuristic setting? I dunno. All I'm trying to say is, try it out before you buy it - I was sure I'd get it for myself before I actually played it.

Raging hard right now i bought Burnout Paradise when it was for 75% off. Now that i have time to play it it crashes every single time it loads......wtf....no wonder it was for 5 bucks

If anyone is looking for a great racing game then burnout paradise is cheap, I bought it and it's a lot of fun - there's a ton of awesome shit you can do all over the city and the variety of cars, BIKES (And even TOY CARS/BIKES!) is actually pretty damn good, much better than NFS for example where when you unlock a new car you just use that because it's just "better".
If you liked burnout takedown then you'll like paradise - it doesn't FAIL HARD like NFS2 did compared to NFS:U, it actually does the whole "town thing" well. Don't let that put you off!
And dungeon defenders is more than worth the price, amazing TD game with rpg elements - can even be played as a TPSRPG style game with a "dps" build. Some of the later stages/challenges are extremely tough on higher difficulties also, require a lot of knowledge and forethought to be able to complete them - running in blind will result in a very quick death. I think the style of gameplay will appeal to a lot of SC players, turret placement/choice is important depending on what you are going to encounter that level/wave/area etc. (I bought DD at full price and then ALL of the DLC when it was on sale a while ago, 100% worth it.)

I am certain this is an issue on your end rather than the games as I have literally had 0 problems regarding crashing/errors or anything of the like, game has played flawlessly so far - maybe check some forums etc to try and fix your problem rather than complaining on a site that has nothing to do with the game?
