Also there is probably a holy great mace lying around somewhere anyway since it is one of the most common great mace brands. You would also be much better served getting haste than getting 26 polearms levels, especially since extended kind of assumes you have repeatable haste and is balanced accordingly. | ||

Second try I went Trog and crossbows ... I'm pretty sure crossbows are the best ranged weapon for killing everything, because penetration is that good. Also you oneshot everything on d:1, crossbows imba. Had a couple kind of tense moments in midgame when I wasn't yet killing everything in three shots but nothing too bad except for the time I was an idiot next to a hydra. Op is good for this since you have super strong melee early on (constrict + tentacle aux) and hopefully you can ride that plus your starting ammo until your god of choice starts giving you what you want. As an aside steel bolts are actually not very good any more, flame/frost deal more damage to stuff that's neutral to them so steel is mainly for stuff with both rC and rF. Not many enemies like that in a 3 rune game (and oofs are vulnerable to silver so you don't even care about them). Pretty much just aliches and tentmons. (The reason steel used to be really good is you could enchant it and then it would never break, while enchanting both flame and frost arrows was usually silly and a bad idea). | ||

If you want to keep TL top 5 then either: get a lot of points for allruning (this is at least 12*30 + a ton of points for your high score) or if you want to win 3 rune games you can go for races/classes/gods that the team does not yet have a win for. Sludge elves are good right now for your individual scores but I won a SEWz a bit ago so you're only improving the team score by about 10 points if you win one. Tournament ends in a bit more than 3 days. To see our unwon races ask Sequell: !lg * t won s=crace/@liquid ?:N=0 Unwon classes: !lg * t won s=cls/@liquid ?:N=0 Gods you have to check our tournament page since you can change gods partway through a game. I grabbed a Zin win so other than Jiyva and Chei none of the gods we have unwon are worth a ton though. --- Speaking of the Zin win it was a HOSu, I took Zin shortly before lair, worshipped him from then until I hit 6* piety in orc, and then ditched him for a real god (Jiyva). It ended up being a pretty fun game ... the starting book carried me through Lair just fine, I found Eos (+11 morningstar of elec) outside of lair and trained that up, then after converting to Jiyva I gradually picked up the following: LRD, statue form, shadow creatures, summon hydra, haste, summon elemental (for Zot). I got a demon whip from Mara and Devastator from a weapon trove and used those for much of the game. Oh, and I used shield of the gong!!! It's quite an experience, I recommend you use the shield if you find it because it is lots of fun. It will get you in bad situations. But it's quite amusing fighting for instance the entire population of Elf:2 (including Roka band) within LOS of the stairs I took to enter, or drawing seemingly endless enemies to you at the stairs of Vault:$. | ||
