...and a single crystal spear for 87 damage ends my SpSt run on D:27. I don't have the willpower to start another spriggan, and as much as I like the Earth/Tmut side of the Stalker class, Fulsome/Evaporate is a tedious spell combo that should be removed from the game IMO. So, I'm gonna go for something else with more 15 rune potential. Gotta help the team!

Well I lost my 3-streak to being an idiot around the spriggan forest lair:8 with a VpEn. Not too big a deal, I got the Chei 3 banner and so far am one of only two people to do so (the other being elliptic of course). DDEE is super ridiculous easy; I had basically no trouble the whole game except for Tomb (and there it was only Tomb:1 that was troublesome). Basically in Pan I used LRD to break open all the rune vaults without actually seeing the pan lords, then I found PDA and switched out of my dwarven plate to the PDA and learned shatter, which I used to break open the Tartarus and Dis vaults. I got the shitty big giant castle Geh: 7 (I think it's evilmike's vault) though so I couldn't shatterninja (well, it's probably doable but I don't know the map well enough and I had no mapping at that point).

Tomb was problematic because I broke open the wrong staircase in Tomb:1 so I had to face the full complement of greater mummies, and torment gets annoying when you don't heal naturally. After that it wasn't too bad; I skipped Tomb:2 entirely and for Tomb:3 I just used Shatter at the starting stairs to draw everything toward them (mainly to clear out the massive mummy band near the rune) then random teleported until I was close enough to the rune to just go get it.

Most of the game was me in dwarven plate having 40+ AC and hitting dudes with a lajatang: first a plain one that I eventually fire branded, then a vampiric lajatang that Agnes had. I used stone arrow and LRD to kill stuff from a distance when I needed to, and eventually I found a ring of wizardry which let me use iron shot and haste no problem. You don't take much damage when you have 40 AC and DD damage shaving (I think my previous DDEE also was in plate for some time, though in that game I was mainly killing stuff with spells). I switched to a staff of earth when I found one in holypan, it's very good and the iron shot power boost was great for killing fiends.

If I had gone about 20k turns faster (not hard to do, I wasted a ton of time doing stuff I didn't need to) I would've grabbed the Sniper 3 banner for beating evilmike's DDEE, but I was more concerned about my streak than the banner.

Q: I have a +4 ring of dex and a +4 ring of protect- which should I choose?

Probably not. Oka gifts are not usually gamechanging and you don't need faith to use heroism/finesse as much as you should need to. Conservation is extremely convenient, rage can be nice for letting you win more fights, clarity and stasis are good in certain situations. It's still a good amulet for oka though, I'd keep faith on for now and switch to conservation at about the vaults, probably.

Protection (and I would also wear that nice randart regen ring along with it).

The -5 int doesn't matter, but the ring is really bad anyway. I can't see a situation where you would need it.

The only time you really need even one is if you're against Aizul or something with poison arrow. Two rings don't do anything different from one.

Never. rN+ can be handy against shadow dragons to reduce the breath damage but since they have a breath timer now you can do without. Amulet of warding is usually the most convenient way to get rN. Sustain abilities is useful in Tomb but you don't really need it if you have royal jellies/potions of restore ability.

There's no real reason to go into a zig if your goal is just to win, usually. You can probably go look in but be warned the floors increase in difficulty extremely fast.

Dungeon starts to get rather hard around lvl 18-21. If you havn't done swamp or shoals by then, I'd say do those first before you go any further in the dungeon.

I don't feel like constriction is too powerful at all (except I think it's ridiculous that it takes like 100 hp to escape from monstrosity constriction by moving away). If Na/Op of chei get huge damage constriction I think that's ok, since you still have the disadvantage of not having haste and moving really slowly, and with normal stats it's not that powerful imo (my NaNe wasn't just murdering everything with it, for instance). Enemy constriction is annoying but it's only on stuff that's slower than you or anacondas and ball pythons so it's not really a big deal unless you don't know about it.

That's why I asked. I tabbed through some Ball Pythons, not thinking too hard about it, and then suddenly I noticed I was constricted with like 10 HP left.

when I roll a grey drac, I quit. I've thrown away quite a few good characters since the tournament started, through impatience and stupidity.

Right now Im determined to 15 rune a human. Gotta do it.

How to NaTm: press tab until you are xl3. Learn spider form. Press tab some more. Eventually learn blade hands. Keep pressing tab because blade hands plus constriction is ridiculous.

I don't poison spit much because I am lazy. If you get to spider form you don't really need it anyway though, spider form is really overpowered and naga spiders are 20% more durable than your average spider (since you keep your naga HP).

wait, is it just me or did the Tm starting spellbook change in 0.10 from fulsome/evaporate -> beastly appendage? O_O

edit: should I wear armours as NaTm, or stick to robe at the beginning? (I basically want to have good enough success to transform and then go melee, right?)
