The gun play to me is boring. Feels like a cheap version of Call of Duty.
CoD uses almost exclusively hitscan weapons so I don't really see that. It's more similar to Battlefield, and even then pretty different because of the maps, classes with special abilities and much more durable vehicles.
I would love to get into this game but lag is annoying as fuck when you're trying to accurately aim in heavily populated areas with tons of action. The game looks fugly on the lower settings yet it still lags. I know my computer isn't the best, but it still shouldn't run this badly.
The game doesn't really explain what or how you play the game too. How can they release a game when they couldn't even get those two right? Don't they want the average player to stick around and enjoy what Planetside 2 has to offer?!?!

^Hokay, What kind of pc is not "the best? The problem could also be either the server itself or your connection towards it. I was playing the game on maximum settings on 1080 with no lag today and yet I could barely run the game a couple of days earlier. I suggest you just wait it out and see if it gets better in the future.

So, playing VS I've been tired of the stock sniper rifle being a low damage/high fire rate one. Taking more than 1 headshot to kill regular soldiers is just annoying. Looks like you may just be having a driver issue. I do recall reading a forum topic somewhere on the net, may have been on steam, mentioning that this game kind of shafted AMD/ATI. Have you tried checking for possible fixes?
edit: Been checking some benchmarks and it's definitely a driver issue. Your pc is rather similar to mine (possibly better, but I'm not familiar with AMD cpu's) and I'm running the game just fine.
I have complete shitty fps with better specs than him. AMD 955 and a HD 6850. The game just runs like shit on Phenom IIs. In theory it should run the game at acceptable fps on low, but in reality I can barely get 20 with a tweaked ini file.
