Nah, not that, luckily.
He is using 4-squad platoons during the match, even though we reminded him that Hossin has a lot more connections, which requires a lot more flexibility. While I think that Force Commanders should play the way they feel comfortable, I'm still happy that others convinced him to at least split up one platoon into two 2-squad platoons, so at least some flexibility is given.
If we should lose air control, he plans to use AA to regain it, which in a ServerSmash doesn't work. It just means that you have less people fighting while their air is still full strength somewhere else. Luckily Woodman air is terrible, so this most likely won't be a factor.
The platoons are supposed to decide their movements themselves with only minimum overarching guidance. He basically just wants to "make big strategic decisions", which works fine on live but you have to be a lot more involved in a ServerSmash. While platoon internals can be left to platoon leaders, the platoon movements have to be made top-down to make sure that you make the most out of the manpower in regards to your strategic goal.
Basically, he does everything very differently from everything Miller learned out of discussions over the last matches. His outfit never participated in such a match, so it's easy to see why he might think that it's just like live. I'm still hoping that I'm wrong and his way isn't as bad as I think it is, because if I'm right, Woodman stands a really good shot at winning the match.
why is a guy whos outfit never participated forcecommander in such an importand match in the first place?
Basically, none of the guys who had previous experience with force commanding wanted to for various reasons, so a few guys stepped up and a vote was made. He came out ahead by far for some reason, probably because some people liked his military bravado - he is reallife tank commander or something like that - when all of the people up for vote talked about why they should be voted. Basically noone really knew of him before.
I think there are quite a few people who now regret that vote.

What are the better ways to farm certs?
Any "in the middle" outfits in Miller TR for newb? Not total trash i assume
It really depends. Score per minute or K/D are basically completely irrelevant and only serve to show off. The best metric would be fun per minute, but sadly the game doesn't provide it so you have to measure it for yourself.
There are plenty of low K/D players that I respect a lot and plenty of high K/D + Score players that I have no respect for because they are essentially useless in the bigger picture. As long as you have fun, it doesn't matter how much you kill, die or get in score.
If you want to farm certs, the easiest way is usually to get into a biolab meatgrinder and spam revive grenades and revives. You can make insane XP with that, though it's pretty boring and I'd rather have fun even if I earn less XP. You get all unlocks eventually, so there really is no reason to hurry.
As for Miller TR outfits, FU and BRTD are the english speaking midlevel outfits I enjoy fighting against the most. They aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and always put up a good fight.

I'm sitting at 402.2 Score/Minute and 1.93 K:D - I never play outside of an outfit squad or platoon and I avoid the zerg. I would place myself as an above average (but very far from great) infantry player.
As Morf said though, these are frivolous stats and while I personally gain some enjoyment out of following them they are pretty much useless if you're not getting the job done in the benefit of your outfit or empire. if your squad leader needs meat on the point you'd better not be cowering behind a rock trying to pick off enemies peeking at the window.
I facepalm every time I see a liberator from some notoriously "skilled" outfit fly in after a battle just to try and get a few cheap kills.
yea, i had a really good k/d when i was lonewolfing, and it went down a lot when i started to play with an outfit, just because i run medic all the time. but im way more usefull for my squad, platoon and vanu now :D
Getting back in, last time I played was in beta - November 2012! :D
Definitely looking to use this as a relaxing time thing / something to focus on for pleasure so I don't get all crazy.
Used to solo NC in a Reaver. Probably would have had more fun in a group. Those server smash vods really got me excited. Also the resource system was a bit imbalanced when I quit.

Fun times!
Dont be a skygod. Play planetside! :D
I think trying to get into the air at this point is pretty suicidal anyways
Whenever I try to fly it takes me about 2 minutes to run into a random 2000+ hours in ESFs alone skygod that shoots me down instantly :p
That's why I only fly with the FRMD air zerg to cover me. With 47 other Reavers around me, I sometimes even live long enough to shoot something

My outfit's leader made a new promotional video which I'd like to share with you people. Germans will need a proxy to watch, as usual.
If you're on Miller you've probably seen us, sporting the black & yellow camo!

I took a minimalistic approach with this on. Most of the footage comes from operations in February 2014, shortly after the Amerish Revamp.
Music by LORDE. I heard it once and my mind starting churning ideas, so I had to use it to stitch my clips together. The lyrics play out like a story to the footage if you ask me, which is wonderful to watch.
