This patch has made me have to change my gameplay up(infantry). And the next one will even more. Had gone infiltrator flash for mostly transporting around with an armistice. THe FUry is getting a nerf soon though. I had the Lynx as main gun for CQC and it was great even for medium-long, but it took a nerf there. THe C-4's took a nerf and I had spent the certs for carrying around 2 of them with grenade bandolier which made it sweet. THis plus the Turbo jet noise has made my LA a little more painful to use now (though I still have a lot of room to improve anyways). I use LA mainly for biolabs and areas such as that anyways. I used my HA a fair bit (before I certed infiltrator and LA more) but lock-ons took a hit as well as my TMG-50, though haven't tried it too much since GU08. Probably gonna save up for C4 for HA now and use SMG for CQC.

He was flying with me there, we use the same techniques. My goal wasn't BWC recruitment here, but it's a fun outfit. That video was recorded on one of BWCs fuck off days so it was an independent squad. You can add me as a reference if you want to apply though. Rahsun.

When I left, eeeeverybody was whining about lockon missiles (rightly so) and air game was pretty much dead. You couldn't find more than 2 liberators during prime time due to how cannon fodder they were and jets either didn't fly or flew near the ceiling fighting each other, because the G2A spam was ridiculous. I've been flying since launch and I'm pretty sure that lock on missiles have only been buffed since then. I've never felt like I'm being prevented from flying. If there's heavy AA in an area, I fly somewhere else. I think the way to shake them now is to fly low and use terrain to block the path. At one point I could hold ctrl and missiles would never hit me. Then I could outrun them with racer 2. Now that those have been fixed, I use flares and never stay in hot areas for too long. I've been told Mattherson air is one of the hardest, so I'm not sure how people fly on other servers. I know when AACE transfered over they were expecting to dominate us, and they're horrible. People are getting ridiculously good at both flying and countering aircraft in this game, so unless you're ready for a steep learning curve and a lot of humble pie, enjoy the ground game. The ground can be just as fun if you're with an organized group.

Or the flight ceiling, but then all you could fight there was other fighters escaping the ground lock madness. That's about where I kinda just stopped playing. After the 3x cash day it seemed everybody in the world had a lock on launcher and everyone bought the 2nd AA for their MAX, so any base with population you approached was invisible MAX fire followed with multiple lock-ons before you could even draw infantry on screen.

I flew quite a bit on Woodman, but at one point the lock ons got totally out of hand, like shortly after the triple cash day. If you flew anywhere with more than a squad full of action in the place, you could expect to get ground locked out the wazoo. So either you hunted faaaaar inside the enemy territory, which wasn't really viable due to running into every returning aircraft then, or you hunted far inside your own territory, to pick up those single stragglers. It's worse now, especially since the TR got strikers. Then again, probably not that much worse as TR. There are still more people that bought or unlocked the other lock-on launchers in the other factions. However, most pilots adapted and got a lot better at using terrain to avoid locks. Pilots now also either use high level vehicle stealth, which gives them more time to break the lock, or maxed out vehicle auto repair that allows them to take a hit and come back sooner without needing to land and repair. There is still a lot of air flying around on Miller and rocket pod farmers like Daddy still have their K/D of 40+, so flying is still possible.

Once in a while, depending on the location of the continent (a high ground spawn with bunch of tanks and planes coming from lower ground) will produce a nice camping situation but that was more than likely just a dumb move by the other race. Most pilots have gotten good at using their spell-counter thing with lock-ons too. THe good ones will wait to use it after they know you have fired the shot so that you waste it or at least gives them as much time as possible without re-lock. I can usually tell the good pilots from the bad ones when focusing them with my lock-on. If they use it as late as possible, then I know they are usually good. If they use it right away, allowing me to instantly get ready for another shot then I'll usually try to stick to them since I know they are probably worse at using the terrain to avoid further shots. I'll know by the way they try to avoid me in any case. The inexperienced ones make it easier from the get-go.

I made another 20 minute video - this one has less fighting back and is more domination oriented, but it's about 37 minutes of straight gameplay condensed to a 21 minute video. Figured I'd share it to show off some more flying!

All hail the lattice! as they charged from base to base on foot. I also got to see the terror that is the disco-saiyan VS max. It doesn't matter that they take extra damage, when they can just dodge your rockets and run you down when you try to hide. - on another note, I really hope they add more audio feedback (footsteps, etc), double infantry health, increase strafe speed, and let you move faster while zoomed-in (make every gun like the orion / jaguar, and then buff those more)
