If i ever have to explain how hard dead space is to someone I just desribe what happens on one of the levels (which one it is i can't remember.) Mad scientitsts lets out immortal necro and locks the doors infront of you and takes away your air. Then many other necros come out of the vents infront of you. You have 45seconds of air in that time you have to fight you way through all these and stun the immortal run out of the room hack the console to return the air.

The first one was really scary, the true definition of a survival horror game. And from what a friend tells me, the demo for DS2 did not let down at all. I've been waiting for this game for a while, I've got a good feeling about it!! :D

The thing that gets me though is the lighting. It is hands down the best lighting engine I've seen in a game, ever. It adds so much to what you're doing. The lightest flicker can make you see something out of the corner of your eye, which turns out to be a pipe. Then a Necromorph pops up directly behind you and chows down. And it acts organic. Constantly changing the environment, and changing yourself and how you react. Really, just go buy it. I actually regret renting it first now because I'm just going to end up spending more money to pick it up. But I found the first one extremely repetitive in the areas you go to because of the backtracking, so I thought I'd rather make sure I like it before dropping 60 bucks. I like it. It's well worth the money. Although it should be said that I have yet to try the multiplayer, since you need an EA pass to access it. I've heard it's pretty... generic though. So don't get it for that. Get it for the fantastic single-player game it is and should have stayed as.

Game is also easy to run. Ran everything very high 32aa. if you want to run vsync DO NOT use the one in the game its horrible and laggy and caps your game at 30 fps. Use you cards settings in windows to use the vsync that will keep it at 60 fps. Game is definitely worth the purchase. I heard the last mode (zealot) is the hardest bullshit you will ever encounter. Some guy said necros get random spawns behind you, and now i know im gonna be QQing when i get to that mode.

I have played on Zealot difficulty, got just 1h 18m play time on it, on Chapter 3. It is phenomenal. Not epic, because epic is just so overused. The whole atmosphere... the whispering.... the sounds around you... random noises all around you... I have missed it so much... I played this with my headphones on full blast, although I dont recommend that because your ears WILL BE SHOT in this game, so speakers are the way to go if you are full blasting it as it should be in a dark place preferably after midnight. It is just gorgeous and beautiful on the PC, without the vsync on 30 max fps, which is the fps for xbox/ps3 I am getting 100 fps average, so it very good in visuals hands down the most incredible piece of art. Every nook and crany is so detailed, the lighting dont get me started as said above it is just top notch, it really is a life in its own and is a character just as much as Isaac. For people complaining about the talking of Isaacs boca, well never fear it does not interrupt the loneliness of the place or the HUGE TENSION of the game, he only talks the inbetween segments where in the first one, the people talked to give a new mission and thats pretty much it, he keeps quiet until you need a new one. Dementia where art thou? it is literally there to just appear out of nowhere and keep flashing you with lights, horrific sights and intense sound... and then its gone... as I think it should be, like the mental disease itself, it doesn't really hurt like a necromorph tears you arms apart, but it just sinks in, you almost want to close your eyes... almost... dementia moments after moments it starts to sink in... it starts to get to you... I am super happy I got this game, pre-ordered on April of last year for 30 bucks at ea store such a steal, and I waited quite a long time for this. I hope this gets people interested to buy it because it is well worth it, let the atmosphere sink in to your psyche, take it slow, look at everything, then at the corners... then at every flicker of light... then at the darkness... and you will enjoy it if you take in everything that the atmosphere gives, take just a sweet moment to look at the scenery especially in Zero-G, of course as long as no one is tearing your limbs off, or hell even then if you are that good or on easy mode. Trust me you will enjoy the further, enjoy the screams... the cries for help... the peoples whispers and believe you me after a session of this game you will not be able to even look down a dark corridor for a while, and it is then that you have experienced Dead Space 2. Tomorrow will be for some multiplayer and more of the story, hopefully I can post more of my thoughts

Multiplayer isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. Pretty much a Left 4 Dead, but more action oriented. Teamwork is kind of bad right now, but seeing in some games people realize walking alone gets punished pretty bad since the Necros can see through walls. Seems like what a lot of people are doing is 3 humans distract the Necros and 1 guy runs ahead and does the objective while the Necros are busy. What is driving me nuts though is stasis. A level 8 human I believe has 2 stasis and it just gets old being frozen and killed and respawning and it happening again until they run out. Haven't played enough to draw a real conclusion on balance though, but I am still happy with my purchase.

I mean, a man can only afford so many pants and underwear. Definitely on par with the first game, and a few little tweaks here and there to help the experience out, and it feels like there are always plenty of ways to go in each area you're in that are optional, and frankly I never go for them because again, I'm only in college and I can't afford more lower wear. The sounds is superb. The graphics are touched up a little, but I don't think it looks wildly better than the first. But it runs super freaking smooth on PC, and that's great because this game just feels so awesome running at a good FPS. Turn off vsync too, I think it's on by default and its locked relatively low. The art direction is where it's at. They use the lighting extremely well, and there's a lot more situations you find yourself in where it's pitch black and you can only see the little glows and whatever you shine your flashlight on. Also, using things to impale enemies = best thing ever. First thing I did when I got the gravity device was throw a monster's dismembered limb back at it.
