Also, they said Bullet Lead + Drop will be FAR more severe than in BC2. Good. Sniping in Battlefield has always been fairly easy. BC2 was more difficult because you had to judge gravity, distance, and lead the target but it was fairly simple. I want to see it more difficult, and further to the point I'd like to see a limit on how many snipers can be on a team at a time. If you have 32 players on a team and 10 are sniping that's to much. 5 is more reasonable. People will QQ about it but it would be better for the game.
And they really have to shorten the vehicle spawn times from BC2. You'd kill an Apache and have it spawn right away just to have to try trace and kill the piece of shit again. I'd even go so far as to say let Engies build things like SAM's as well as repair them. It would require attackers to think how to push into a fortified position.

old but am i the only who lol'd when the soldier in the BF3 cover looks almost exactly copy/paste from the soldier in BC2 cover? lolllll

i initially though the same, yeah just looks like the same guy about 20 years later
i'm really excited about bf3 and i just hope they are really implementing all the announced features really good! played so far every bf title and they were all pretty good one way or another (except for the free bf titles...never really were a friend of those)

Fresh scans from Game Informer, now 10 pages.

Read from the buttom up. Ripped it off 4chan so we still have the images after the thread dies. Enjoy!

After reading that, I cannot be any more excited about Battlefield 3. The amount of effort and general awesomeness being pumped into the game is absolutely mind-blowing. If EA/DICE follows through with all their promises, Battlefield 3 will be more than a true successor to Battlefield 2.
I can't wait for more previews showing the power of their new engine. A fully-destructible city is definitely going to be the next step in FPS evolution, and the fact that they are learning from previous games only means that the wonders of their new engine will be combined with what could possibly be the best Battlefield multiplayer experience yet. Obviously, I'm quite stoked.

that preview sorta sucked. basically no new information at all. the multiplayer interview didnt really tell us ANYTHING except that there wont be a commander mode lol. (prone and 64 players for PC version was already announced)
oh and there will be a campaign that probably wont be that great. hey anything could happen and it might be the greatest single player campaign ever, but I highly doubt that. the better destructibility might be really cool for the campaign but I don't see it really going anywhere since DICE hasnt really ever done anything notable in singleplayer.
im really curious to see what theyre going to do about player limits for PC and consoles. PCs is 64 vs consoles 24. will PC players be crowded onto smaller than ideal maps or will console players have maps that are probably too big? or will they just make the maps bigger for PC version?

I'd guess the maps open and close areas based on how many players there are like in BF2. I don't think anyone can say for sure right now though.

There was so much in there about DICE's design philosophy, the tools that they're developing to make BF3 a great game, etc...
What would you have liked to see, information on new unlockables? New weapons and vehicles? Because that seems like it would have been pretty boring to me.

what is different between BC2 and BF3 AT ALL
so far we have prone, 64 player limit, different story campaign. that was already known from the fucking cover of PCgamer.
edit- oh yea, no commander mode (i guess not really a bad thing)

thats the ideal answer i feel (especially since they did the in BF2 as well) but then it feels SO counter-productive to make large(?) sections of maps that are completely un-usable for probably the majority of players (console players).

BF1942 is easily one of the best games of all time. BF2 was pretty good too. Haven't played BC2 but I'm really excited for this one.

im not really interested in it if it's just going to be BC2 but with twice as large multiplayer games.

I actually wish they would just get rid of like half of the vehicles. :|
BF1942 was SOOOOO fun just on foot. The part that was not fun was dealing with tanks. Back then airplanes weren't a big issue because buildings weren't destructible. Now because buildings fall apart I'm going to have to worry about tanks, artillery fire and tanks? Hold on let me get my debit card out to preorder -_-

I can't wait for this game after looking at the imagines jesus *drools*.

I'm actually excited for the new animations. Gameplay trailer pleaaaase.
I don't mind commander mode being taken out. I like BC2 and I don't mind playing without it. I think this game will do pretty well despite having commander.

Please do not give the spammable grenade launcher class an ammo kit.
Please do not give the medic strong weapons.
Please give the recons silenced automatic weapons so they can actually use their C4.

uh a new engine?
i dont really know what people expect from sequels. if they're at all similar people call them rehashes and if they change too much people get upset that they ruined the franchise
new engine looks and sounds amazing, the developer tools they're using are really interesting (they had a dynamic lighting presentation for frostbite 2 and it was pretty sick stuff). I'd rather not they reveal every detail about weapons, classes, modes right off the bat. personally i'm satisfied enough with frostbite 2, i'd rather they stick to the tried and true formula
i guarantee more information will come out about that though. this is the first real preview. what do you expect?
