I had a hard time playing the original because my PC sucked back then, but if the sequel will be as good as I remember the original being that'd be awesome.

So many memories I have from clan wars of BF2 back when i was in high school. Waking up at 8am to play in the World Tournament and verse americans with 250 ping and win was an amazing experience, demolishing the teams full of older gamers (who treated the game as a tactical simulator) with mass C4 throwing and organised squad hopping. The movement in BC2 was far too restrictive for me, 2142 was a decent comprimise i suppose. And now i just remembered the horrible netcode and bullet rego it had. Memories.

No game have ever been this rewarding for me to play, the fact that you needed so many different types of players to get a good team was so cool. I can't wait. Hopefully dice will have made a few balance changes though, especially to BF2's weak AA - seeing somebody with 50 kills and 1 death from whoring a J-10 for an entire round wasn't that Last edit: 2011-01-06 13:35:19 much fun. Yes, the J-10 was insane! They did actually buff the AA at some point though, and then it was suicide mission to try to bomb a manned AA without flares. I actually didn't mind the imbalance between factions. It was part of the game, and in CWs, the teams switched sides between rounds anyway, so it kinda got balanced. Like in most infantry heavy maps, MEK would be favored due to their Ak-74 and the fact that their chopper had a much stronger anti-infantry gun. I like when factions have some uniqueness to them, instead of just mirroring the sides. It makes for a much more dynamic game. Fuck I wish people still played this. Hope BF3 will be good! :>

Battlefield 3 is the true successor to Battlefield 2. Beyond our signature multiplayer, we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign – all straight out of the box. As for fan favorite features, how does the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC) sound? All this built with our powerful new game engine Frostbite 2, which you'll hear and see a lot of in the months leading up to launch. For the full reveal on Battlefield 3, stay tuned for links to our cover stories hitting the gaming press throughout February, starting with Game Informer right now. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield_bad_company/archive/2011/02/04/battlefield-3-is-coming-preorder-now.aspx also Battlefield 3 leaps ahead of the competition with the power of Frostbite™ 2, the next instalment of DICE’s cutting-edge game engine. This state-of-the-art technology is the foundation on which Battlefield 3 is built, delivering superior visual quality, a grand sense of scale, massive destruction, dynamic audio and incredibly lifelike character animations. As bullets whiz by, walls crumble, and explosions throw you to the ground, the battlefield feels more alive and interactive than ever before. In Battlefield 3, players step into the role of the elite U.S. Marines where they will experience heart-pounding single player missions and competitive multiplayer actions ranging across diverse locations from around the globe including Paris, Tehran and New York Features: • Frostbite 2 – Battlefield 3 introduces Frostbite 2, the incredible technology that takes animation, destruction, lighting, scale and audio to new heights. Built upon this powerful game engine, Battlefield 3 immerses players physically and emotionally to the world around them like never before. • Feel the Battle — Feel the impact of bullets and explosions, drag your fallen comrades into safety, and mount your weapon on almost any part of the terrain. Battlefield 3’s cutting edge animation, spectacular visuals and real as hell battle gameplay attack your senses and make you feel the visceral warriors experience like no other FPS. • Unparalleled Vehicle Warfare — The best online vehicle warfare experience gets even better with a fitting sonic boom as fighter jets headline impressive lineup of land, air and sea vehicles. • Urban Combat — Take the fight to iconic and unexpected places in the USA, Middle East, and Europe including claustrophobic streets, metropolitan downtowns, and open, vehicle-friendly landscapes as you fight your way through the war of tomorrow. http://www.webhallen.com/spel/pc/99046-battlefield_3_limited_edition So, Frostbite destructibility has been extended to urban environments. There will be a single player campaign. **PC version will have PRONE and 64 player multiplayer and JETS** Sounds amazing? I think so. I had tremendous fun on BF2, though I think I played a bit too much Infantry Only on Strike at Karkand.

The movement and hit registration feels so clumsy and off in BC2.. It's a real shame when an old game like CS 1.6 has snappier controls and netcode. I dunno. I really hope they pull off BF3 well because I love Battlefield. BC2/Frostbite is nice for the destructible environments but I hated almost everything else about it. I think they need some really good maps and/or accessible modding tools... I think another large part of the problem with I had with BC2 was there was only 2-3 good maps and they were played to death. In the age of DLC.. I don't like our chances.

Now that BF3 is coming, I am definitely buying! P.S: Shattered Horizon dropped support for XP years ago.

The only problem, imo, was how easy it was for normal infantry weapons, aka, grenades and rpg to completely take a house apart in seconds. other than that I LOVED it. Sniper holed up in a building being a bitch? BLOW THE FARKING BUILDING DOWN.

![]() Strangely enough, that the thing that really hooked me about the latest news on BF3 is that you can go prone again. That annoys me (almost) every single time I play BC2. In FPSs I love proning near doorways, for some strange reason.

If you find a good server the hitreg feels perfect, and I've played alot of CS/Cod4. The problem is that anything that says you have over 50 ping in the browser is actually unplayable once you get into the server.
