Bumrushing with the Humvee rarely works, and chopper pilots are not smart enough to go from the back (even then it's still a challenge as you're going to be shot).
Best way would be to take the jeep, put it infront of your tank, and make your first push. People use to do this with the Vodnik on Bazar in 8v8's, and it worked extremely well for pushing the enemys first flag (C/A respectively).
I don't know the bounds on rush Damavand. If you can drop people on the otherside of the tunnel then that would work to great effect. The most common Damavand (conquest) strategy won't work, because they're already on point - unfortunetly.
KDR is mostly irrelvant in BF3. It just doesn't portray assault skill accurately. I could reset my stats, grab a friend, and go 40-0 in an attack chopper for 40 games to give myself this crazy KDR.
In addition, most of the real good players I find don't actually clock a lot of hours. They mainly play unranked servers for ESL, TWL, or Gamers Portal. I know people from nXs, Rival, and other teams who haven't clocked over even 200 hours. Yet they've been playing since the game came out, and are probably some of the best players you'll ever meet.

second to last point on davamand is terrible if your team is bad and rushes the outside mcom so that def can just camp the inner building and most of the time you can't mount a decent challenge even if you blow the wall into the room overlooking the mcom :/
but last point is even worse unless you somehow manage to kill their tank without losing yours

Somehow I find rush incredibly boring and bland in BF3 because of the maps, regardless of playing with friends or(lol) pubbing. I used to almost always play valparaiso in BC2 if our main server wasn't populated. To me, none of the maps have any good varied and drawn out fights that are in close proximity to the objectives. It seems to always be extremely black/white in results, which to me is rather boring.

Ah man, I feel like I'm finally getting over the little fence and starting to contribute in kills.

Sometimes the matches sucked because you couldn't get anywhere because your team sucked or their team was way too good. But usually it was really good to play, especially with some friends and you could just run in with your killsquad and blow up some mcoms. In BF3 I've played 2 matches of rush, after that it's been only conquest and TDM. I just don't like it in BF3 at all, and a big reason for that is what you're saying.

Rush doesn't bother me as much, except for the fact that there's a lot of defender's advantage built-in the maps. Seine with First Objective, Damavand Peak Last Objective, Metro and Kharg reward a lot of defense over offense, and it would take a stacked team to break through. There are drawn-out situations, but those are not fun, especially since Metro is just the same as in conquest.
The out-of-bounds rush on Damavand Peaks isn't effective either, since the OOB area is short, as it's slightly past the hallway where the defenders come in (Russian side heading towards the middle objective in Conquest).

I'm starting to be a believer in AEK + FG + Flash Suppressor.

AEK with no attachments except a scope of some sort is for real men.

Quick question: Why do I see people putting Laser Sights on sniper rifles? All it does is increase the hip fire accuracy, right?
Also, finally unlocked the M98. Jesus, sniping really just begins when you get that weapon...
|
I was wondering: is there a reason to get premium? I'm under the impression that noone really plays the DLC maps.

Also, finally unlocked the M98. Jesus, sniping really just begins when you get that weapon... The players I've seen using it, including myself, don't snipe with those weapons. Red dot or holo scope, maybe one of the 4x ones is the highest I've seen used. Sniper rifles are pretty strong in close quarters with the laser sight, kind of like shotguns but with far superior range.

Waiting for Armored Kill seems like a way better deal then, considering that CQ en Karkand aren't played that much anymore. Thanks for the answer!

I got it because I am a sucker, and mostly because I wanted the map packs that will follow. This most recent one was pretty dumb tbh. It is kind of fun, but it is more COD than BF.

Also, finally unlocked the M98. Jesus, sniping really just begins when you get that weapon... Laser sight is the only weapon where you can toggle the benefit on/off. This helps with CQB when powered with low-powered scopes, and you want to be slightly more offensive in Recon. I used to play around with this, except that I keep forgetting to toggle because you're going to be blinding the person when zooming, which is a dead giveaway to duck and run.
I've been on a knifing spree lately, feels good to get 4+ kills per round with the knife to get knife ribbons. I still don't have my knife medal, so this is a good opportunity.
The reason that DICE missed the board with Close Quarters is the fact that they didn't realize why everyone plays Metro, which is the fact that there's only 3 chokepoints with no random spawn locations.
Finished getting all my mastery dogtags for sniper rifles, ~50 mastery dogtags now. I definitely prefer the JNG-90 over all sniper rifles for 100m+ sniping, (M40 for CQB).

I was one of the people arguing with you awhile ago, decided to try it since I started to play again. It feels more like an M16 in relation to recoil control. I still haven't figured out why it may be better, could just fit the AEK better..

It's because you get the red dot while zoomed. Makes you feel like a motherfucking assassin. Or because every other attachment sucks dick (even though I am a fan of the bipod).

Patchnotes...M416 gonna be THE best weapon now :D
And holy shit, why would belt-fed LMGs need an aimed buff :F Now they not only luckshot you with their bulletrain but also actually can aim more easily instead of firing controlled when aiming =)

Are you talking about the old notes that were not set in stone?
Also they added loadouts to battlelog so you can change them outside of the game and you can have it copy people's loadouts off their profile.

I like this a lot, may not be fully needed but I think it's pretty neat..
