I might be wrong on this, but I believe these nerfs are from previous mod-specific buffs.
Javazons have some of the best DPS in the game from what I've gathered, not sure about trap assassins but I'm sure they do fine too.
Just about every popular build, no matter how stupid (meleemancer/encsorc/singerbarb) is completely viable in this mod. Certain abilities have been nerfed to reasonable levels (blessed hammer, most top-level sorc spells) not to say that those builds aren't any good, but they're not as godly as they were/are in the unmodded game.
Give it a try before you cast it aside, I think they've done a lot to make the mod feel like D2 only better.

Probably depends on your general ability to play games/your approach. For some players I'd say its almost limiting that they've played vanilla d2.
A few tips to those who realized how good/important gold is:
a) Run act 4 waypoints and sell stuff
b) Stack up on gold find and run leoric
Goldwrap - Try act 3 bosses close to WP's like the General or Sarina
Chance Guards/Tarnhelm - Try the guy in Inner Cloister
Nagels - Leoric will drop naturally
Crafted holy boots
Amulet - Look out for rares
Armor - Anything with topaz sockets or Goldskin
Weapon - Something with eg% jewels

I just farmed drognan for 5 hours to get a good staff. Made it into this:

This brings me back. I haven't played D2 in years and have no idea where my disks are...
I might have to find a 1.10 file and play this bad boy, the trailer looks fantastic.

I was playing this up until the last patch... any word on how it is since the changes? it was really easy to get rich in the game previously, not sure if I feel like going through it all again.

Baal is fixed on DuFFBeer's server, the rest of the servers will "tomorrow" US time
I'm clearing a game as we speak, hit me up on *Corr
EDIT: Baal is not fixed clientside yet, so while we can clear the path to him we can't do him yet without the client-update which should be here in 8-10 hours

To the ones I gave guesstimates on when the server/baal/patch fix was in place: I didn't realize that DuFF (the host) is in Quebec so it's in fact noon at his in one hour which means stuff could be sorted as soon as then per his own statement:

So apparently baal is fixed so long as you reinstall the mod.
Just wanna reiterate that this mod is fucking boss and has made diablo the game it should have been. If you played diablo and enjoyed it, try this mod and see if it doesn't do it for ya

corr this is hunter... is it worth reinstalling the game again?
last patch was pathetically easy I was running solo baal runs on my pally and if pallys/psn necros haven't been nerfed theres no point.
