I still don't know how I like it since every mob in the game can cast curses and you never know when iron maiden is going to pop, but thanks for the tips. You would be surprised actually. The fact that they can cast more curses lessens the chance of you getting IMed and instantly dieing. I havent had a problem with it yet.

The fact that somebody changed the pw on the tl account makes absolutely no sense after going through 2 3/4 acts. Gear drops like crazy, the biggest problem I have is not getting anything useful for me personally. In the 2 or 3 games I've ran with 6-8 people each, it's kind of an unsaid fashion to drop any uniques you're not going to use by the stash/repair/cain and let other people look it over. When you're rolling around with 100k gold by level 30, you don't really need to worry about that 2-3k you'd get for that particular item. There isn't much of an economy from what I've seen because there really is no need for one. You don't barter your items away, you give them away because drops are just THAT plentiful. Overall, I'm loving the mod. I wish bosses were a tiny bit easier (the general took like 20 minutes to kill with a 55 in our group) but that is a very minor complaint. Highly recommend this mod to anybody who's ever been a D2 fan. Acct is *Jermstuddog

The main dislike is that on some fights you can't do anything with some classes and/or builds, I've joined a few groups on Mephisto or Diablo runs as a Summon necromancer and all I'm doing is sitting there spamming astral blades and casting curse cause everything else dies instantly. Same deal with my fanaticism zealot, I'm useless on Mephisto, at least with a lack of healer or very high level oak sage/battle orders etc. I can sit there giving people my aura and occasionally charge then have to run away. It's boring as all hell doing that, I mean it's not really the difficulty, I did these fights without dying, it's just the lack of involvement which makes it completely mindnumbingly boring. Considering this mod is all about boss fights they should be a lot more enjoyable, but they're not involving and too time consuming. Other dislike is pertaining to gearing up, like I said it's pretty easy to get sets or uniques which is fine, but the problem is that the sets and uniques that drop are just so far below your char level that they're mostly useless drops. It doesn't help that it's pretty much impossible to do anything by yourself, as a level 53 summoner pretty much the highest bosses I can solo are the bosses in act 3 that's not Mephisto, like General Hatestorm or some of the Council and as far as item drops that gives me access to like level 38 ish uniques at the highest, which aren't that useful when you're level 53. Of course, you can group with people and kill diablo over and over or shenk or whoever for items but it'd take forever and it'd be incredibly boring. In LoD I did tens of thousands of Hell Mephisto runs and well over 100k legit Pindleskin runs, not that that was fun either, but at least you could actually solo bosses at your own level and have a chance of getting upgrades, in this mod you have to group, and then you have to hope something drops, and then you have to hope some tit doesn't nab it. Overall the mod had promise and was fun for a short while but I got bored with the lack of involvement in boss fights, difficulty doing anything solo, difficulty attaining useful gear upgrades and overwhelming general boredom. Difficulty is all fine and well, I loved doing a lot of the difficult boss fights in WoW, that's all the game was about and the fights were involving and when you downed something for the first time you often felt a sense of achievement, and the loot you'd receive would be worth it too. In this mod, the fights are not fun, there's no sense of achievement, the loot you receive is often useless, particularly if you're soloing because you can't solo anything at your level with the vast majority of builds. I know it's a group based game and all but it'd be nice if more chars had more usefulness in boss fights and if the solo difficulty was scaled down so you could actually kill some bosses alone and get some items that are useful, I wouldn't mind if they even lowered the number of items that dropped if it was at least possible for my summoner to kill Diablo solo at 53 or whatever cause then I could, given the time, gear myself up and actually be involved in fights if my builds had any use in boss fights.

Not to say that your opinion is wrong, I share a lot of the sentiment so far, but is IS unfair. You don't expect to solo those bosses in WoW, so why is it fair to assume that you should be able to in this game? Virtually any useful gear in WoW at the top level is going to require 10 or 25 people in order for you to get a shot at it, it is equally possible for a douche to grab any of those items you wanted. The only difference is you probably have a guild and some RL friends that help you run everything you want. If you compare the games on equal ground, I think they're pretty similar, your necro may be a curse bitch, but that is still a super useful task and you have plenty of mana left over to nuke with. With adequate healing, your fanatadin shouldn't have any problems at all. Unfair analysis is unfair, that's all I'm saying.

He's just saying he wants some classes to be able to get more INVOLVED in boss fights, instead of basically having to sit out of fights because if they do anything else it would be either useless or they would be dead.

Yeah people can still steal stuff in WoW but the system made it harder with the way the rolls worked and in general people were good about it even in public games, in D2 people don't seem so friendly. Some are sure, but there seems to be a lot more people that want to steal stuff for their own wealth than yield to someone who can make use of it now. This isn't a big issue of mine anyway and I barely even made any point of it in my first post, and it would be a complete nonissue if you could MF by yourself in any case. I wasn't saying my toons are totally useless in a group, but it's not involving and highly boring. I did say the fanatadin would be ok with healer or more life buffs but of course when playing public games you don't get to choose what specs other people are using, so in the situation I was playing it was very close to useless. This is the biggest issue for me, it totally detracts from the fun of the game. I could live with shit items and long boss fights if my characters could do anything in the fights and they were enjoyable. Don't see how saying that the boss fights are boring, it's impossible to do jack shit alone and there's no viable option to keep your gear up to date with your level is unfair

Also for any non-caster build you need to know how to improve your equipment constantly or you'll fall behind within an act or less, casters are more forgiving on that front. A full summon spec necro is quite limited yes, you rely ALOT on having a decent mercenary. You won't be able to solo act bosses but there's many mini-bosses that you can solo with a lot of builds. And the bosses do drop items that fits your level, you might've been unlucky but the treasure system is designed so you'll get just items near the level the boss/you are at. I see a lot of new players in the mod at this reset and its probably mostly because of this thread. Normal is sufficiently easy that people can force their way through with bad characters/bad groups/help from higher chars right now which causes a lot of unenjoyable fights. Respec would be great to have for all those newer players as they will often need it. But respec was added in the v1.13 patch for D2 and updating this mod to that patch is... way too big a task for the author. Edit: Killed Samhain twice. Baal should be fixed tonight, get in touch with me on the server

They are definitely viable, but they are healers. You keep med/sanc aura up (in this mod, both give huge hp regen bonuses if you've dumped enough points into prayer) while switching between FotH and Holy Shock as needed. Both provide plenty of heals to keep your teammates alive, totally viable, just maybe not how you remember it ![]()

Why would you nerf abilities if you are going to make the game so much more difficult? Y'all enjoy, I want no part of this business.
