The Skyrim food truck thing from PAX came by my campus a couple weeks ago so I got some cup holders and skyrim branded bottle openers but nothing as cool as that. the map is part of a small "Pre Order Now!." poster, and they also gave me their huge poster that they hang up on the window to their store. I'll take better shots of them (all of my pics from last night sucked) and upload them when imgur gets working again.

Ya, you don't like nature hikes? The appeal is that you can be anything you want within the game rules, and considering mods, basically anything you want. It's a sandbox, and you play with it. For some people that includes nature hikes. And in TES games, damn are they beautiful.

In all of the TES/Fallout games as of late, as well as other games outside of those two series, a big aspect that a lot of people love about it is the immersion into the game world. People also always talk about the things that "ruin" the immersion - whether it be interfaces, characters in the background freezing in time when you talk to people, etc. The one thing that nobody ever mentions however, and in fact most people seem to embrace, is the fact that you're able to carry hundreds of items most likely weighing several hundred pounds on your character. Does this ruin the immersion more than anything else for anyone besides me? I do love collecting things, going treasure hunting, looting, etc.. but I really really wish it was in a more realistic way. Only carry what someone could actually carry, then you have to store it at your home/hideout/whatever before you start picking up more. I know it's really convenient to be able to just carry everything, but it has really ruined the immersion of a lot of games lately for me. To be in Fallout, just yourself, then all of a sudden look in your inventory and realize you are carrying 15 different types of assault rifles, 2 rocket launchers and 5 armored suits.. wtf lol. Or in Oblivion you're carrying like 5 sets of full heavy armor, 10 swords, 2 bows, 6 staves, 50 vials/potions, etc. I know that I could just set my own limits and do it myself, but it's like fast travel on maps and stuff.. it's still there, it's hard to ignore it. Anyway, I guess I was just wondering if anyone else felt this same way, considering how big of a deal immersion is in games these days. I've only really felt this way recently, and I'm not sure why. With so many other things going to great lengths to give you a fully immersive feel, every time I've opened my inventory in Fallout 3/NV/Oblivion over the past year or so I just kind of let out a sigh when I realize how much my character is carrying with him, and I fear it's going to be the same with Skyrim. I just sometimes wish games forced you to only be able to carry what you could in your hands, maybe one or two weapons strapped on your back/side, and a small sack or something and nothing more.. especially considering everything else is supposed to be super realistic.

I played low strength character in Oblivion and it was really hard to have a lot of items on yourself, all that loot from some animals were 2,3 units of weight and it filled up really fast. Arrows were heavy too... I used OOO (maybe this changed few things around). I had problems carrying one additional set of armor (which seems realistic). Cap like that was OK, I would be pretty angry if I could carry even less. Maybe things like that don't break immersion for me, I like roleplaying and stuff but I really don't care if weight is not realistic or things stop when I talk. I pump up immersion by owning a home and decorating it with neat stuff ![]()

I can definitely see where your coming from, but honestly, I guess I just come to expect it so much that I probably would be very annoyed if I have to do that. I mean, every RPG you play growing up (or at least the ones I played) had some kind of massive inventory system. The smallest I've had was like Diablo's hah. But I can definitely see your point, and I bet you now that you bring it up, I'm gonna think about it while i'm playing XD . . .thank a lot =P. jk hah But as all others are pretty much saying, self imposed restrictions are the way to go!

I would be pretty happy if they decided to disable this feature and put "caravan" hub in every village/inn. Ha, yeah I'm not a big fast travel fan. I loved the way Morrowind did it, especially how there were different forms of transport (striders vs boats) and how that would affect your plans. In fact I might go back to Morrowind to keep me busy until Skyrim, anyone have mod recommendations?
