currently i only have a followers fix, the official graphics update and UI changes, plus midas magic.
There is a lot of stuff out there, but i dont know which ones are any good. Oblivion and Morrowind had amazing mod lists.

As far as mods go i'm not a "crazy" moder, but here are the mods I use: -complete skyforge+skyforge map marker: i like having everything at the same place, i know it a bit of a cheat but I like it ^^ . -SkyUI of course -exalted magic: free wards :wards now only cost mana when you absorb a spell. It's pretty well balanced overall, i like it better than vanilla . -undying companions: eventhough it's clearly a "cheat", i feel that when you play with magic and AOE spells you absolutely need this to play with followers otherwise they will always die. -follower map marker: very usefull -midas magic (haven't used it yet though, i don't even know where the reactors are) - realistic thunder sound: pretty good and simple mod. -better dynamic snow: honestly i don't see that big of a difference. -war in skyrim: adds more diversity in the encounter you get outdoor. Must have mod. -shadow striping fixing: doesn't solve everything but it helps in some places. I'm sure there are a lot of better mods, unfortunately it's hard to find a good list of mods that work well together and offer a consistent gaming experience. In my mods I focused on fixing and improving the flaws in the gameplay without changing the vanilla experience too much. I tried a couple of graphical mods but i didn't really like them.

I'd recommend those (assuming UI changes = SkyUI or something similar) and also: JustArrowSmithing Dragons Diversified (significantly harder dragons with different abilities / traits, really love this mod) Horses for Followers Realistic Water Texture Static Mesh Improvement Mod Skyrim Flora Overhaul Skyrim HD (actually if you have graphics update maybe this isnt so necessary) No quite must have but still pretty great: Spend Dragon Souls for Perks (it is not 1 soul for 1 perk, it's a pretty fair system imo where higher tier things cost more) Non-Linear Perks (if you meet the skill req you dont need the pre req perks) Flash Step (Teleportation Jutsu, Instant Transmission) sounds like what it is, not everyone will want that though understandably Enhanced Night Skyrim Jaysus Swords (if you're have a swordsman) Glowing Ore Veins Spell: Force Ice is kinda cool (freezes target and they fall over for about 3 seconds immobilised) Master of Time is very fun but some might not like it I guess. Crimson Daedric Set Idk if you're a big fan of houses: Bayside - A Dawnstar Player House Suncrest Hall The Reserve Seabreeze Estate DragonBridge Settlement by Rowan Leeves Proudspire Manor Expansion Version 2 - Armour Wep Gallery Vilindrel Hall XL are all pretty nice ~imo~ I expect Flying Ring by Porroone (BETA) will be excellent when it develops a little more. Jetaap's suggestions are pretty good for improving vanilla experience, some of my suggestions change it in a slightly more significant way and plenty of people wont find that so appealing.

There's mods for just about everything from skins, armors, environments, even whole new questlines. Mods are what keeps skyrim really fun these days for me. Not really, the base game is awesome. I have something like 7-10 graphical mods, and 1 that influences gameplay. (killable children). And it's awesome. Gameplay mods can ofc make it better, but I'm not sure your first playthrough should be heavily modded like that anyway. Mods will be what keep it fun after a few years, but the game is still pretty recent. xD I don't really use questline mods either. I just want the game to look sweet when I play

In no particular order: - Quality world map, nifty little thing, adds roads to the map and you can use it to remove all fog/cloud from just the map so you actually see the map under them - Arrows tweak, give arrows some scaling damage over the game or change the original values to make more sense, change projectile speed, rates at which you recover / find arrows - Auto unequip arrows, just unequips your quiver whenever you don't have a bow in your hands, purely for the visuals of not having to look at the arrows on your character when you sneak around with a dagger or something - Balanced Magic, gives magic more scaling while not making them balls out crazy. Optional files to change how mana regens in combat to make mana regen gear more worthwhile - Breezehome fully upgradable, gives the first player home a basement with the rest of the crafting stations, purely for convenience so I don't have to run around Whiterun when I want to craft stuff - Complete crafting overhaul, fixes some issues with crafting, unlocks recipes that didn't make it into the game, changes some recipe reagents - Deadly dragons, to make them harder. Haven't honestly noticed much change, but that's maybe because I don't melee dragons to death, I prefer never to get hit in the first place. - Duel, Combat realism. Mod that changes how blocking and stamina work, makes for more interesting melee combat, if that's your thing - Enhanced blood textures, self explanatory - Glowing ore veins, makes them stand out more from the background - Official HD textures fix - Jaysus swords, adds a crapton of craftable swords. Not really a big deal, since there's not many stats to change between swords to make a lot of different ones, but it gives many new meshes so not every sword you find is the same. - Lockpick Pro, Okay this is pure cheat, it adds a cheat bar when you lockpick so you know exactly where the sweet spot is, I hate that little mini game and this is as far as I found it to remove it from the game. Maybe not everyone's thing. - Localized Thieves guild jobs, you can ask jobs from certain regions, so you don't have to save/load or take / retake jobs till you get from the hold you want to advance that areas development. - No more blocky faces, I guess it does what it should, I don't honestly even notice. - Realistic Lighting, now this is the real deal, holy mother how sweet the game becomes when you use the default setting so night is dark, dungeon is dark, dark means you don't see shit if you don't have light sources. Has the improved thunder and snow mods in it. - Rich merchants, another cheat I guess, just gives all merchants more cash so they can actually buy the crap you find. - Skyrim monster mod, changes what creatures spawn in the world, adding a ton new ones. Makes adventuring outside quite dangerous if you aren't ready for serious combat. - SkyUI, must have - Smithing perks overhaul, this is related to the crafting overhaul mod, not sure what it does again. - Spell sneak attacks, recent addition and haven't got a spellthief high enough to really test it, but it should give a sneak attack modifier to projectile destro spells while sneaking. - Static Mesh Improvement Mod, more graphical upgrades - The Dance of Death, more and more frequent kill cams, most fun if you play melee - Unofficial Skyrim Patch, fixes a ton of bugs still leftover, and yet there's still more so it doesn't completely replace the command console as far as fixing bugged quests go, but still good. - Weapons and armor fixes, fixes stats from them in the vanilla game that devs didn't bother to. hmm quite the list actually. I think most impacting mods aside from graphical updates are the Realistic Lighting combined with Skyrim Monster Mod. You'll have a new take at exploring out in the wilds during nights after you activate those 2.

All you ever need to kill a dragon is some sort of obstacle you can hide behind, big tree, a bit higher rock, a small building, and you can kill any dragon by just hiding and shooting when it's immobile, but yea, with total vanilla settings in magic, it takes foooooreeeever unless you drink a ton of mana pots and maybe destro pots. Mana regen is only 33% in combat in vanilla (well irrelevant once you reach high enough enchanting). You can set it higher with the optional files.

i also am trying warzone and occupy skyrim since the war in skyrim mod is removed. Gonna do some sneaky archer with spells with mostly unchanged gameplay and then later add creature mods etc and try a different char, next year or so :D

They can still dislike me, but hate me for something other than being a vagabond or a petty thief. If you reach 100 in skill or complete certain questlines (mages guild and companions) they do it without mods. I imagine there would be some mods that speed this up/change it up though. EDIT: Wait do you mean conversation dialogue? Then they don't do it.

I feel like a drug addict or something. It took me almost 100 mods to finally uninstall this game. I was just in a vicious cycle after beating the game and a bunch of other shit in it. Downloading a few cool new mods, playing a bit, stopping for a few weeks, rinse and repeat. I always felt I was just ONE mod away from making the game that much more fun to push it over the edge and let me enjoy it again like I did for the first 30-40 hours. Well, I modded Skyrim into essentially an entirely different game. AAA graphics, incredibly improved combat and particle effects and AI to a level that a sensible person can not ask more for on this engine. I got a shit ton of alternate scenarios and the like and afer my last binge of installing mods it hit me. I finally felt like I found my mod, my thing. It was a Frostsomething survival mod + a shit ton of other awesome and well made mods. It's just, Skyrim has no replay value. Yes there are some nice new patches that add some cool stuff but that's all it is -- just small cool stuff that should have been in the game in the first place that would have made that first, magical time even more magical. However, on their own, they don't really add anything significant. Yes there are a shit ton of awesome mods out there, but it's just...why even bother? The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild are the only quest chains worth a shit in this game. That rebellion one in the city (dont remember it off the top of my head) deserves an honorable mention. There's a lot of isolated cool shit in this game but it just doesn't mesh together well and the entire thing just doesn't feel worth it at all after a first time through and everything after that is trying to reenact that first time playing. Like a drug addict. I played Morrowind a bunch, and even Oblivion a few times. Every time I played Morrowind I felt like it was a meaningful playthrough. I felt like there was actual content I was exploring again, and I was able to play a completely separate game without the need for a shit ton of mods because that game was THAT deep and expansive. Everything in Skyrim seems so cheap, as if they were a little brother trying to mimic their older one but failing miserably. Skyrim was awesome and worth every penny -- I got at least 40 hours out of it before I began to get bored and those 3 aforementioned quest chains were some of the best I've ever done in an RPG. However, there's so much this game does wrong and even though much can be fixed it still feels so artificial when it is fixed because of the game itself and the engine and a conglomerate of other things. I can't find it for the life of me, but someone dug through some of the files and found that Oblivion NPC's had more commands of what to do (ie: go around praying, talking to people, walking paths, jobs they would perform, etc.) for atmosphere than Skyrim. SIGNIFICANTLY more. The world feels dead and there are so many things which are so obviously held back because of consoles. (read: loading screens everywhere). I also feel some form of "Hardcore" system would be in order in this game if anything instead of New Vegas I think they got that backwards there. The expansion looks cool but I'll probably pass unless it turns out to be astounding. It just seems like more cheap things being done. Adding crossbows and some new vampire mechanics won't reinvigorate my interest in this game and the same goes for the thousands of other Elder Scrolls fans like me. The quest may be worth the purchase, but that is yet to be seen.

Mods like this make me wish it was possible to have a second, backup install of the game you could launch separately. Glad I stumbled on this thread randomly. Picked up a few mods from the last page that happen to fit my current playthrough (spellthief) well. First time playing the game in 5-6 months
