They havent released the sys req yet right? You guys think I might need to upgrade my good old' gts250 to be able to run at least on low to mid quality? Skyrim is looking like GOTY already, can't see any other game with such potential

Enabling more memory for all of us is literally nothing more than a few clicks for their programmers (and someone who uploads the new dlls and .exe to their server). I'm guessing (or at least strongly hoping) that they release this afterwards as an optional patch of some sort. No it's not just flipping a switch. First the code has to be 64-bit safe. Then you basically double your build and test matrix. Then there might be tools involved in the development process that don't support 64-bit code. Then the additional builds have to be deployed and you have to take into account the additional size. Memory usage will be higher (due to increased pointer size, different memory alignment, …). Games are heavily optimized and these optimizations might be broken (think of cache coherence). So you also have to invest here to deliver similar performance. And all this for no real benefit.

Also praying for a ton of diversity in the terrain, and it running on PCs as well/better than a heavily graphically modded Oblivion does. (Better Cities with that one dudes graphics mod was lol, especially in IC docks holy shit my fps) And obviously mod support is a must; that MADE the last 2 games what they were for me

You will probably need an upgrade. Keep in mind that they are porting this from consoles to PCs. Shame it isn't the other way around but money talks... The console versions are probably going to be locked at 30 fps with limited draw distance plus a whole bunch of stuff. I mean if you want to play a great game like skyrim on medium 60 fps I would atleast get a 460 1GB and if you can afford it a 560 ti.

It seems to me there is a WIDE variety in character creation. Especially after seeing the 2 orcs characters delivered by Bethesda! Very promising! yes that is very nice orc!! thanks for pic! I can't wait for this game. :D

Just feels so retarded to for example run up to a cabin in the woods and a guy saying help some bandits took mah daughter and then rescue her and get a reward. It feels better if it has a storyline too it and maybe the bandits worship the moon or something and this girl was born under the blood full moon or whatever. Random side quests without a good story seems boring to me but I don't mind having a few of them. Elder Scrolls never had random quests like WoW.

"go fetch", "go kill that dude" and "escort me there" quests were very common in morrowind. I still love the game to bits but more story lines apart from the main quest and some actual dialouge would go a long way imo.

Sometimes you had quests which were just "go kill that dude" but i cant remember any of these quests coming from a random NPC who stands around in the nature. Most quests I got were part of the guild quests or from important persons in the cities

Morrowind was about atmosphere, immersion and exploration imo. Story lines and (the nonexistant) dialogue always came second. I don't think playing to their strengths while still trying to improve on their weak points would be a bad thing.

It wasn't really more to it than that. Yeah I remember that. I kinda thought to myself.. 'really Oblivion?' But those kinds of quests were rare. Oblivion did well to stay away from that kind of no brainer quest. I'm sure Skyrim will do the same. We need more big factions though.. they cut the number of those in half from Morrowind to Oblivion. But not just more 'guilds' I'd like to see the something like the Great Houses, more factions where it would make sense that your character had joined and was high ranked in more than one.

in general when i listen to the devs talk about skyrim, it seems that while they are taking the bad that they learned from oblivion, it seems like they are taking a larger amount of the good they learned from fallout while trying to reinject what was lost in the transition from morrowind to oblivion. i'm really excited for this game, i can imagine it not living up to my unrealistic expectations for any game that has the same prefix as morrowind, but i don't see how they can disappoint me.
