T_T There's 1 backup of each quick and autosave, might be worth it to check that out.
You can also go into your games > skyrim folder and move the saves you want to keep into your documents so they're not present when you play your other characters.

Is it normal that I get smashed by bandit captains/chiefs? I'm currently level 18 wearing all ebony gear. I can take out regular bandits in like 4-5 uncharged swings, but a bandit captain will usually take me down in a few seconds if I don't down potions or turn on Berserker skill beforehand. Maybe it's because my hp is too low? I have like 140 HP and 230 stamina.

Your HP is too low, stam is too high in comparison. So yeah, it's normal. You'll just have to be careful not to get hit, and be careful blocking etc.

The Legion and Stormcloak questlines are almost fucking identical.
wtf Bethesda. so lazy

Dragons are starting to get annoying now. Once you get beefed up, they aren't hard at all. I wish they'd scale almost like Oblivion, but also appear less frequent. It is sad that I think, "Oh just another Dragon." instead of "Oh shit, a dragon." (I'm playing on Expert btw.)

Does the one handed +crit chance with swords perk affect daggers too? Just started my assassin character (other 2 characters are on my desktop back at the dorms, on break now), and wondering if it's worth investing in at all.

I finished the thieves guild. I need help though.+ Show Spoiler [spoiler] +God that was annoying. I probably spent 15 minutes just accepting -> quitting quests trying to get jobs in Markarth. But now Devlin won't accept rare treasures I find. I even resorted to google to check- the map is definitely part of the rare objects. What the hell :< He won't accept them! It appears that finishing the Thieves Guild quest Darkness Returns will prevent handing in more larceny items to Delvin.
f u bug :<

This is by far the biggest letdown i've run into. Pisses me off they would be so lazy about such a key part of the game. Even the shit the guys from Helgen say are the exact fucking same. Huge disappointment.

It seems they got lazy on a lot of parts...while they made all of the side quests really cool, the main quest chains end up suffering. Like I just beat the Thieves Guild quest chain, but all of the people's dialogues are the same. I saved the guild and you still say, "You may be one of us, but you better not cause trouble." wtf.

"ah i see you are that new companion right, what do you do, fetch the mead?"

I finished the Legion quests, overthrew Ulfric, and yet people all over the world still talk about him like he's going to do something.
So far, that's the only thing in the game that's disappointed me. That and some silly quest journal bugs.

Has anyone read this yet? I found it randomly on gamasutra while browsing around their forums for some line of sight algorithms to use in a game I'm coding, it is a rather interesting blog talking about the difficulty levels (or non-levels) of skyrim and the effects of having a game engine that allows players to basically overpower their character in a multitude of different ways yet still have fun by testing their builds against the game's easily accessible epic enemies (dragons/giants).
http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/TaekwanKim/20111121/8944/Breaking_Skyrim.php
I thought it was a rather interesting and accurate take on one aspect that draws people to this game anyone else agree?

The Civil War seems to have sooo much potential that they didn't use.

I can't wait for the CS. First thing I'm gonna do is make myself a proper house o.O
I really hope people try to convert Cyrodil/Vvardenfell to be playable in Skyrim, like that team in Oblivion (Morroblivion was the mod). Reason being Skyrim is pretty damn small and I like the scenery of Morrowind/Cyrodil much better than Skyrim D: D:
But yeah, it is kinda easy to tell that Bethesda got lazy in some parts. And I completely agree that dragons should be less frequent and much stronger. I'm level 40 atm and they are barely any trouble at all to me
I love playing an assassin/thief type. i literally 1-shot anyone I hit in sneak mode w/ a dagger lol. Still can't tell if its just plain fun or if its taking away from the game D:

Can companions die during combat? I got Lydia with me but she only drops down when really hurt and later runs back to me.
Is there a better tanky companion in Whiterun or around then Lydia? I am playing a Mage. I put Lydia in a whole suit of flawless Elven armor and gave her flawless Star forge steel axe and a superior Dwarven shield. She still gets defeated in every dungeon where there are more then 2-3 opponents.
