The quest to get to the DB is a kid mistaking you as a DB assassin and asking you to kill the old hag that runs the orphanage (spelling?) that he just escaped. His mother is dead and he don't asks you to avenge anyone.
Because the two people who were enjoying the scenic view and talking up the beauty of the place, and one of which begged me not to hurt the tree, were both slaughtered by the spriggans. When I walked down the steps both of their bodies were floating akwardly in the little pond.

Argh this game is ruining me O_O I need to study!!
I've been trying to rush the 'stealth-ish' guild/questlines and then the main questline (thieves guild, dark brotherhood, so on), and I've just discovered after rushing these quests for a few days that + Show Spoiler [main quest line spoiler] +
after your first battle with alduin, when you first learn dragonrend, that's not the end of the game =/. Far from it, I read someone say that they were really disappointed about how once you defeat alduin that's it the game ends (like all bethesda games it seems) and so I was expecting that to be that
Now it seems like I have a few more days if not weeks to play, I can't just leave this character half complete!!
It's been my plan to do everything stealth-ish for this character, then come back to game in the summer after my exams (and once the game has been modded/dlc is available) to do a battlemage type character, and all of those type questlines (College of Winterhold, Companions, perhaps join Imperials? etc)
Oh, and is there a way of storing/getting rid of quest items for quest you havn't completed yet? Playing a stealth character, I just steal anything that's mildly interesting, and often I get items which I can't then sell or drop and add useless weight to my character, meaning less of other loot. And it's random items which I find, I can't just go complete the quest because I have no idea what quest it's for. I especially have a lot of journals
Just got the game today finally after the torture of watching it on mcDuffs stream for the past week or so. And coming from someone who looks in EVERY little crack of the game for ANY potential epic lootz, even in a game like Skyrim where the epic lootz tend to be specially lit and centered in the room, I can tell you that Bethesda is challenging the very fabric of what is acceptable in an RPG.
Amazed by the graphics as I am with virtually every new release in the gaming world, I finally see in Skyrim a game whose gameplay has matched its graphics. This is quite difficult to do in the modern scene, but this is a game that's actually WORTHY of taking months of my life. I have tried using my amazing imagination to come up with crazy ideas to try in the game, and 90% of the time the ideas can actually happen in the game, or something else that is unexpected shows up to make up for the fact that the idea doesn't work. Just today I was running around in the wild and I randomly decided to test the game's merit again. I noticed a tree stump nearby, so I decided to examine it for tree rings. Lo! There are ants!
It may seem highly coincidental but aside from the (mostly) non-destructible environment, almost everything else is covered. For Talos!
That has to be meant as a starting place for modders. I can only imagine how amazing the provence mods for this game with be 5 years from now with the task of creating the land mass partially already done. I'm almost more excited for those than I was for Skyrim.
Has anybody finished 100% of the achievements yet? Assuming pc has same ones as xbox. They are pretty straightforward I think 15 daedric artifacts will end up being the last one I get done.
Yeh achievement grinding kind of lame but I only do on xbox and it gives something to do.

You might find a Save Manager handy. There seems to be one for every semi-recent game made by Bethesda, and right now it is a life saver for my indecision about what kind of character I want to play.
So I heard this game was buggy and that people lose saves after playing for 20 hours, as a result I currently have 400 hard saves . Might wanna delete some of those, and the strange thing is I haven't had a single game or save breaking error, even when the game crashes in the middle of a quick save.
Stealth archery is so broken, finished the game without a single problem. Now im doing a mage and actually being able to die is fun.

Nah you're doing it wrong.
100ish hours. Still have a few main towns to visit. I haven't even gone past the first Greybeards quest.
I meant the people that said that they lost their saves after they played for 20 hours, I've done the main quest line, all the guilds and towns and I think I have around 80% of the map discovered. Playing on my main character got kind of boring since im unkillable now, but yeah after starting my second game as a mage I've already run into stuff I have not seen yet, there is a ton of things to do in the game.

Yeah I just re-read it and see exactly what you mean. Sorry =)

I realised that I probably have to go and kill this woman to start the guildline, still not sure about the assassin though.
Spoiler free:
The quest in Misc called 'Speak to Aventus Arrentino' is the one you're looking for.
