looks fine, i recently made a character like that. really fun and worthwhile gameplay imo (+ i <3 Argonians!) mine has smithing though But how do you handle big mobs, like a bunch of draugrs you can't sneak by. I guess some school of magic is needed.. Magic sucks vs Draugr's, if you are okay with abusing AI archery is enough.
Most dual-casted fire magic rips through Draugrs last time I checked o_o

Not quite there yet. I do have the two requisite perks; the one that makes my normal power-attack have a %chance to decapitate the opponent is a really nice perk. EDIT: Show nested quote +Ya need to get your jukin boots on. That's the only way I could kill the Draugr Deathlords/Overlords early on without healing. Bait them into an attack while dancing around them, jump back and let them swing, then go in again. You'll also to juke back and forth a lot when facing Dragon Priests, as their spells hurt a lot earlier on.
Nowadays I just 1 hit everything with sneaky dual maces though... You're probably right. Backing up just out of range and then smashing someone after they miss works fairly well. I just need to work on my technique, I suppose. It's not like dying is that bad if you're relentless with save-states
I'm playing a character like this, and the block perk that slows down time helps immensely against powerful 2h opponent. Block to let them swing, they will most probably use a power attack, which then slows down the time, you step away, they miss, then charge in with your power attack and that's it.
I'm now lvl 30, from Two Handed tree I have invested in great swords for extra critical. I also have maxed first blocking perk, and taken already mentioned time slowing perk (not sure about the name). First heavy armor perk is also maxed. I'm finding the game to be too easy so I will probably soon switch to highest difficulty.
Also, I'm wearing fully upgraded Deadra armor, while Lydia is wearing fully upgraded Ebony armor, with Deadra mace and shield. She can usually solo the dungeons while I observe the walls and pick up stuff.

FYI the sideways power attacks has, so far, been entirely useful for me. If any of the multiple opponents block then attack it seems to consider the entire attack blocked and you end up doing no/little damage to any of the targets. I always much much more success just focusing down each target in one-two standing power attacks.
I'm also not sold on the running power attacks with a 2hander, the momentum of the swing/sprint seems to keep you running and often you hit the enemy then run right through/past him. I'm not sold that it's a better sprinting option than the 100 blocking perk (which I still need). So if I were to do it again I might just grab the standing power attack and rely on the running shield bash to disable opponents.

So just started a mage.. The alteration perk that increases armor by armor spells when no "armor" is worn by the mage. So I cant even use any light armor boots or light armor dragonpriest masks? Doesnt make any sense to not be able to wear boots, I guess I can wear the little gay-as-fuck crowns tho?:p

My god... I'm trying to rebuild the Thieves Guild at the moment... + Show Spoiler +but I just do not get ANY jobs for Markarth, I already got the other cities done, but I've been quitting and accepting new jobs for 10minutes now and... nothing!

Would be cool if a mod would exclude masks from the perks... Another thing I'd like to see in a mod is higher textures on weapons. My ebony bow looks like a dirty chunk of wood...

You can wear shoes.
Be a lady.

you can find lots of boots that aren't classified as light armor. Just enchant a pair of "Fine Boots". I actually love the alteration perk now that my enchanting is maxed, since I can basically just enchant any pair of clothes/robes that I think are good looking.
Also, if you don't want to use a crown,
+ Show Spoiler +you can buy an unenchanted mage hood from the resto chick in winterhold, although it's always tan colored I believe. There is also the option of enchanting a chef's hat, or the execution hoods which you can loot off the tied up dudes you have to kill in the abandoned shack near the start of the dark brotherhood chain. You look kinda like scarecrow from batman with them on, it's kinda funny.
Also, Radiant Raiment sells plain black robes, if you are looking for some cool robes to enchant.

Man... the quest to fix the tree in Whiterun made me feel so dirty. I think I need a shower.

such a great game. got it 2days ago and easily playd 15+ hours already. even more if it wasnt for such stupid rl things like work, friends and gf. sooo much to do and see, their character mechanics are simple but work and it looks great outside of some muddy textures. sure there is bad stuff but so far i gladly ignore that cause its just a really great and addicting expirience.

huh? why?

Mage: Full Destruction, Alteration and Enchanting. plus restoration. Alteration turns you almost invencible against standard dmg(not magic). Proper Enchanting will get you infinite mana with the very high mana reg items. Full Destruction = nuff said already. The downside of this is the low health you will have and somewhat low magic resistance, stamina is not an issue nor is armor(alteration).

i am doing the impirial questline and i did this epic whiterun mission and got promoted by this caesar dude. was that the last "real" mission? after that there were 2 really boring fort takeover missions and i really dont like these random filler quests. but in my journal it doesnt say that the questline is completed, so my questions: are there more real quests after that?

Is there a mod yet to increase the strength of your ability to move stuff? I don't have the game yet, but after watching a friend play, the one thing that struck me was just how hard it is to drag stuff around, i.e. corpses are almost impossible to move.

I'm aiming to make my character as strong and versatile as possible, trying to get all the best perks.
So far the must haves. 1. Dual cast destruction w/ Impact 2. 3x stealth arrow damage 3. 15x backstab 4. Slow time on zoom w/ bow
I guess the next perk I want to make my character as strong as possible is double enchanting. I am primarily a mage, getting all the spells, but not really putting perks into the magic portions, except destruction and a little in restoration to conserve mana.
Lvl 39 currently, any other good perks that are a must have? I think I like the archery tree the best.... stealth archery is just too fun.
All the spells plus all the sneak/archery perks

Is unarmed actually viable in any way?
Kajiit + unarmed enchants + unarmed pots (do they exist?)

+ Show Spoiler +If you side with the Empire, you do have less city take over quests, but to answer with as few spoilers as possible, no you're not finished with that quest line until you have taken over either Solitude or Windhelm.

How the hell do I beat a two-handed guy with a one-handed axe/mace/sword and healing? He just completely dominates or blocks everything I do. He's a named miniboss and he just wrecks.
Also, which is the best? Mace, One-H axe or sword? I love axes the most, but the mace does so much dmg, just slow.
